Two things 1.) http://www.cananews.net/news/128/ If you look down on the page it says Antigua will be playing in the Digicel Caribbean Cup Unfortunately this site is expensive as hell so I won't be buying a subscription to it. 2.) http://www.antiguasun.com/paper/?as=view&sun=281935077507132005&an=252806098506242008&ac=Sports Anyone know about this Caribbean football cup in New York?
You should update that on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Nations_Cup_2008 which says Antigua and Barbuda were excluded with a link to a CFU article from March (the situation must have changed and the CFU website has Antigua and Barbuda in Group C).

OK, it appears that Dominica have replaced Saint Lucia in Group A while the BVI have taken Dominica's place in Group D. Also, apparently Aruba has dropped out of Group B, leaving a space open for one more team (French Guiana would be the obvious choice as they are right next to Suriname and Guyana, who are the other two teams in that group). If not them, Montserrat and then Sint Maarten are the next closest out of teams that did not enter (Saint Lucia is closer but as they seem to have dropped out I doubt they'll be re-entering). It would be tough for a team like Montserrat, who relies highly on players based in England, to get their team in on such short notice as well. Or perhaps they will just take one of the teams from Group C and stick them in there
I'm looking at Wikipedia and if no team that hasn't already entered wants to enter, a Group C team should be moved to Group B. Playing Group B with two teams would make no sense considering four out of five second place teams advance and with one group of two, three groups of three, and one groups of four the second place teams could not be compared fairly. Each country would have to play two more games my way, but I would have gone for three groups of five with the top three in each group advancing. Does anybody know what time today's Netherlands Antilles-Grenada game was played or will be played?
starts in an hour and a half, times are on CFU's fixture lists. I'm trying to find at least an audio stream
OK, now I just read that Dominica will move to Group B and Aruba will take their place in Group A http://caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/aruba/stories/arubatojoindcc.html
Where did you read that? If you know that for sure then update http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Championships_2008
July 27th Group A Netherlands Antilles 0 - 0 Aruba http://caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/matches/2008/netherlandsantillesvsaruba7272008.html
July 29th Group A Aruba 1 - 3 Grenada Theric Ruiz scored for Aruba, one of Grenada's goals was a penalty, and I think Jesus Paesch got sent off for Aruba http://caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/matches/2008/arubavsgrenada7292008.html thanks to the Arubaanse Voetbal Bond forum for the info I have right now

From CONCACAF.com "Aruba, who had replaced Dominica in Group A and arrived the day of the match, earned their first tie since 18 March 2000 when they drew 2:2 against Puerto Rico in San Juan." This means Aruba will move out of the last place in the FIFA Rankings currently shared with other 8 nations (American Samoa, Anguilla, Cook Islands, Guam, Montserrat, Papua New Guinea, San Marino and Timor-Leste).
July 31st Group A Netherlands Antilles 2 - 0 Grenada http://caribbeanfootballdatabase.com/matches/2008/netherlandsantillesvsgrenada7312008.html
How will the worst second placed team be decided? Will results against the 4th place team be discarded for Group C? It seems not, looking at the second round group stage. Could some one tell me what "A2 or B2", "B2 or E2" and "A2, D2 or E2"? To be more exact - if Grenada are among the best runners up, what group will they join? F or H?
1. What specifically from that link is telling you results against the fourth place team will not be dropped? Edit: I guess that fact that C2 is listed on a line without another group. Maybe CONCACAF feels like the group of four should automatically have two teams advance. Keeping the results against the fourth place team will pretty much guarantee that the second place team from that group advances although that team would be likely to advance anyway. 2. I don't know how many groups will need to be played before it will even be determined what group Grenada will go into if they advance. It's kind of like in the Gold Cup quarterfinals when they don't know which two first round groups will have their third place team advance, except the Gold Cup groups are played simultaneously. If and when another group is played with their second place team doing worse than Grenada, we'll see if Grenada is placed into one of the groups on that link as soon as that happens or not.
Group matches in Guyana delayed. Dominca got flight problems. http://www.stabroeknews.com/sports/false-start-2/ First match will be Friday.
Suriname also through as one of best 4 runners-up (They bettered Grenada's second-place record from the first group, and so can't finish any lower than 4th of the 5 second placed teams).
