Besiktas striker John Carew tops Barcelona's shopping list. Despite the likes of Gabriel Batistuta (Al Arabi), Nicolas Anelka (Manchester City), Pierre van Hooijdonk (Fenerbahce) and Louis Saha (Manchester United) all under consideration, Barca chiefs are agreed that Carew represents the best bet for the January market. Barca are searching for a quality striker to replace injured Henrik Larsson, who can be signed in January and also on the cheap. Carew, aware he's in the frame, is desperate to move to the Nou Camp, despite only joining Besiktas in the summer from Valencia on a four-year deal

i'm all for this. carew is more than enough quality. barca just need some one good enough to fill in as a sub and someone who can at least hold their own in they get the start.
