STAMFORD BRIDGE 22 SEP 2021, 01:45 PM GMT Not sure on coverage options. It isn't showing for television in the UK, I think it's on ESPN+ in the US. Gotta think we see a decent amount of rotation here. Genuinely want to see us have a go for every competition we're in. Villa is a tough draw, but getting them at home is in our favor. Want to see a decent amount of fresh blood. Kepa Chalobah Silva Rudiger James Kante Saul Chilwell CHO Lukaku Werner I could see us going with Werner up top by himself, but I'm intrigued by him playing off of Rom for a match, not 15 minutes at the end of a match. With Mount being yanked at half time does Tuchel through him back out there to show him a bit of faith? I could see that. Is it out of the realm of possibility to see RLC start in a 3 man midfield? Lots of intriguing options and have no idea how Thomas is gonna line us up.
I think Rudy gets rested and I suspect we see Ziyech over Cho. Doubt Lukaku starts. Think we rotate there as well. Remember we play City then Juve next. I’m guessing we see a lot of rotation.
Hope to see Kepa with another start and good performance. Let’s not forget we’re losing Mendy to the African Cup of Nations for a decent chunk of time. Kepa in good form is going to be important for this season and potentially selling in the summer to recoup our fees.
Only play him in games against Aston villa? Interesting. I see where your mind is going with this one.
Eh Kepa is young and will want to play. Mendy is n1. Maybe a loan but I doubt he wants to stay and play second fiddle. Especially if he continues to show very well under Tuchel.
Sounds like Sarr is gonna start and Bettineli too. Saul, CHO, Warner, Sarr, Chalobah, Chilwell all look to be starting. He talked about Ruben too.
His wages extremely high and having disgruntled players can mess up a lockerroom. If he asks to leave you work with him to find a deal that makes sense for us. We won’t have any issues finding a semi competent n2
Indeed. Agreed. When/IF that happens you act accordingly. So far all seems good. Kepa does not seem disgruntled. btw - is lockeroom the same as changing room - dressing room?
All our players/squad seem up for it and ready. The only player that I feel needs a little break/rest is Mason Mount.
Agreed it does seem like all is well and I think a huge part of that is he will get a lot of PT with Mendy at African Cup. I just don’t see him wanting to stay as a n2 beyond this year. But it won’t be an issue to solve for until year end. Yes it’s the same thing.
No idea but was hopeful we’d seen him today… even if just a super sub to get some minutes on those legs
https://res.cloudinary.com/chelsea-...32936/deltatre-resources/jf2q6k5zqp2jop6wls6g James at CB. Saul getting a second chance. RLC and Sarr getting some PT.
Kepa James Chalobah Sarr CHO Saul Kante Chilwell Ruben Ziyech Werner No idea if this is a 3421 or a 352 or a 343, or a 433. Literally no idea with this lineup. Bench: Bettineli, Silva, Mbuyamba, Barkley, Havertz, Mount, Lukaku. Really looking forward to this match and hope to see Xavier get his first team debut.
I hope it’s more of a 4-3-3. I’d love see if we can switch up the tactics some and still be effective.
I'd guess the usual. Not much point switching up tactics when the line up is so different. Lots of rust there so will need to approach this match smartly. Plenty of talent though and will be good to watch some of the irregulars. I'm glad, for instance, we've given ruben a spot rather than ross.
