So at least TFC has managed to not be the first Canadian MLS team to lose to a lower-tier club with the Whitecaps losing last night. We could very well be the second though given our current form. How good is York?

Technically, TFC already lost to lower tier clubs back in Vancouver and Montreal's pre-MLS days.

Less technically, the first CPL-over-MLS win was in 2019 when the Whitecaps fell to Calgary over two legs.

York is middling by CPL standards. In a normal year, TFC would win this in a walk even with substantial rotation of the lineup. This is not a normal year, however. York will come with everything they can give in this game. They will be totally up for the match and completely committed. If TFC plays for real, we will win. If we put out the lackluster, don't-give-a-crap stuff we've been showing in league games lately, York could score an upset, especially as this is a single game tie.

Personally, I will be very disappointed if TFC half-ass this. This is the Canadian Championship and it's time to play like professionals.
