I have never seen the German Reserves or as most are U23

Would they compare to MLS reserves or would the Indiana, UCLA and Maryland be competitive with the U-23 teams.... since most are 1985, 86, 87 or 88.

And how about the other D3 and D4 who are independent ...there rosters are mostly 1970's players......I assume more physical and less techincal than the U-23...just guessing

any idea on the D3 and D4 sides?????

    Thanks

Never stopped the guys on the YA board to discuss the level of play :D.

U-23 is a meaningless phrase, officialy all reserve sides just get a Roman number (II, III, IV). The rules are the same for all reserve sides, they are only allowed to field 3 players above the age of 23 at a time, therefore their average age tends to be lower than that of the regular clubs. Without checking it now (would be quite a lot of work ;)) - I'm pretty sure that the majority of the players on the rosters of the regular clubs was born in the 1980s as well.

Most players on the reserve sides won't become regular first division players but, once they turn 23, will move to other Regionalliga or 2. Bundesliga clubs.

Lord yes. Some people just refuse to believe lower levels can have talent.
