CCV was outstanding today and I would consider this his best performance in a Celtic shirt. He was a commanding and demanding figure today. Top class. Some stats I saw for reference……. - 117 touches - 93% pass accuracy - 7 clearances - 6 duels won - 2 successful tackles - 1 interception - 1 blocked shot -1 clean sheet And most importantly….. moved out of the bottom on their EL Group.
CUP FINAL - granted, the Scottish League Cup, but CUP FINAL. CCV started in the customary RCB spot, 1-1 after back to back goals early second half.
Free kick at midfield, defense for Hibs asleep, played over the top to Kyogo, gently volleys over the advancing keeper. Not sure what Hibs problem is - maybe they thought a sub was coming on, at least one of them seems to have errantly thought it was a throw-in. But it was their own sub waiting to come on, why should the ref have to delay a Celtic free kick for a Hibs sub? At any rate, 2-1 Celtic. CCV with a couple of good defensive headers, and they deserve the lead based on the run of play.
Starfelt must be a special challenge for CCV to play alongside. Last time I saw someone go forward so aggressively from a CB slot is was a U-10 game.
CCV bailed out a bit after misplaying a ball, but phantom foul called against Hibs. 87th minute, very close to a Cup.

CCV called on after the five minutes of stoppage time to defend against a ball over the top. He runs it down to briefly challenge the attack, but shot still gets off and Hart is forced to make a clinching save. Celtic win the Cup! CCV played well, not called on to do a ton until late.
Carter-Vickers starting against last place St Johnstone. Pretty important to grab all three points to try to keep pace with Rangers for their title chances, especially after a scoreless draw with infinity shots last time out.
And this one won't be scoreless, at least. Juranovic great steal and cross with just hi ssecond touch, on goal from Abada - brilliantly saved at close range, but Aabda is first to the rebound and heads it home. 1-0 Celtic.
Corner kick - with CCV helpfullly holding his arm, St Johnstone defender heads wide of his own goal. Would have deserved dark arts partial credit for that one.
Abada finishes into the far corner from a great touch through ball by Rogic, and it's 2-0. This one probably isn't getting any better - St Johnstone may not even get two good chances at this rate.
St Johnstone score with their first shot on goal, a header flicked to the far post off of a cross by Kane. So it's 2-1 and Celtic simply can't afford to let this one get stolen into a draw like their last match.
Bitton finishes from the top of the box very accurately into the lower near corner, to make it 3-1 Celtic, and order has been restored.
All of the possession is with Celtic, with Hearts attempting to play very directly and with opportunistic high pressure. CCV just forced to make a turnover out of bounds by Boyce.
Hatate with just an incredible goal - Bitton steal and lays it off to Hatate at the center circle, three dribbles and a surprising 30 yard blast that catches everyone by surprise. 1-0 to Celtic. CCV pretty quiet still, mostly just circulating the ball in possession.

Hearts score - arguably a bad play by Starfelt to let McKay win possession about 25 yards out. CCV moves to contain him, and a good pass to a potentially offside Boyce splits CCV and Juranovic.
