Yes, he STARTS Die Start-1️⃣1️⃣ für das zweite Testspiel des Tages gegen @Feyenoord Rotterdam: Bürki - Götze, Guerreiro, Dahoud, Philipp, Pulisic, Piszczek, Witsel, Schmelzer, Weigl, Toprak. #BVBFEY pic.twitter.com/O2gZPLkapR— Borussia Dortmund (@BVB) January 11, 2019
Didn't see a gameday thread for the friendly, but I will say Pulisic has been pretty active thus far and the guys commenting on the match have had a lot of positive things to say about him. They mostly said that they're really sad he's leaving, but are excited that he's promised to give everything before his departure.
Through 15 minutes, quiet match. BVB with a large majority of possession. Pulisic taking corners. Had one nice run down the right wing which he cut back for a left-footed cross that was cleared but dangerous. Feyenoord playing a surprisingly aggressive pressing style, maybe because they now they'll use a ton of subs later. BVB trying to play a possession style and moving the ball more quickly than in some of their recent games.
Pulisic working hard to create - a few aggressive final passes to or from him just missing the mark. Would have liked to see more opportunities created than this by the squad, though. 34 minutes in.
End first half. Feyenoord made the half more even toward the end of the half. Not enough chancces created. Pulisic played well within the possession concept of the team strategy. A couple of crosses that could have been something, but ultimately weren't.
The commentators were saying they just finished up their training camp and kept referring to the 8 days of training having been pretty rough, so they're probably feeling it a bit. Not surprising F-Word is taking it to them.
BVB up 1-0. Long ball to the top of the box bounces, Philipp pretty much pushes the defender out of the way, then calmly slots into the lower corner from 15'.
Sergio Gomez slips a ball behind the defense to Guerriero, who cuts hard left in front of goal to beat the keeper and scores between defenders standing in front of an empty net. Quick pass to CP might have been easier, but hard to argue with the result on a strong individual play off a good pass. 2-0. Foot off the pedal a bit.
Gomez-Guerreiro combine on the right for the 2-0. This second half Puli very quiet, lots of back-passing and taking part in a decent build-up only once.
Btw, Toljan has also entered the match. The commentators were talking about how he played earlier today (this morning against Wilhelm II) for about 30 minutes as a CB.
2-1 Feyenoord goal for Nieuwkoop off of a corner kick that pinballed off a reaction Burki save right to him.
CP back on the right, earns a corner, well taken, finds Toprak, who heads too close to the keeper. 89th minute.
Schmelzer out, Burnic in, and Puli back to the right. And that's all I can watch. In no way shape or form our CP has looked like a 60m Euro guy today.
Missing a at least three key players, must be wrapping them in cotton wool for the restart of the second half.
