No money involved yet. And, with the injuries we've suffered this season, we've saved some big money on salaries. Therefore, the club is using that money to get cheap new players. Insurance pays the injured player's salaries after a certain amount of time. Jonam can explain that better. It's not like Ajax can ask much for Pienaar. He's leaving at the end of the season anyhow. From what I understand, we paid less than half a million for Matthew Amoah. I wouldn't expect Pienaar to cost much more. Man, just a few months ago, I thought getting Pienaar would be impossible with the clubs who were mentioning his name. But, if BVB buy Pienaar now, you can look for Rosicky to be sold sooner rather than later..........
I have the strange feeling that a decision on both players will be made on Monday or Tuesday. Let's wait and see what happens.
BVB have confirmed that they agreed terms with Steven Piennar. He will sign a 3y-contract. Whether he will join in winter hasn't been decided yet.
There are rumours about de Jong since several weeks (months). Would be the hammer as he can play holding midfield, centre defense and right-back. But I doubt that we can really sign him. Quality like that is normally chased by Europe's big guns. :-/
I can't agree. I think the only thing we would have going for us in any possibility of getting de Jong is van Marwijk. However, last season, we deluded ourselves into thinking we had a real shot at Mark van Bommel because he's married to van Marwijk's daughter. I don't think de Jong will resist the cash and exposure of bigger clubs to play with a former teammate and a Dutch coach in Dortmund. I just don't see it.
I have a nice redhead. She has a nice rack too. lol and she'd kill me if she knew I posted that comment.
I had a nice redhead a couple weeks ago. Funny enough, she's a Chelski fan. Comes through town on business. Fun stuff! LOL!! I'll ask her about de Jong next time!
From the BVB Yahoo list: Rosicky chooses Atletico Madrid over Arsenal tribalfootball.com - December 21, 2005 Borussia Dortmund midfielder Tomas Rosicky will snub Arsenal and join Atletico Madrid next month. Rosicky's agent Pavel Paska has revealed Rosicky has already rejected an offer from Arsenal and wants a move to Spain. Dortmund are demanding £8 million for the midfielder, while Atletico have so far offered £6.5 million. Dortmund are pushing for the deal to be closed before Christmas to give them enough time to find a replacement.
