After the tournament, we'll be hot and heavy into the new season discussion. May as well start this thread now........
I want to get the poll fixed. There is supposed to be another choice reading: "No. A club other than BVB or Bayern will win the Bundesliga."
Translated from this Ruhr Nachrichten.de interview: New BVB II Player Eric Durm On His Goals In Dortmund Today, the 3. Liga Borussen are heading to Sweden for a team-building camp. Before the trip, new 20-year old BVB II striker Eric Durm spoke of his goals on the Dortmund team. This past season, Durm scored 13 goals for FSV Mainz 05 II in Regionalliga West. RN: Mr. Durm, why exactly did you choose Borussia Dortmund? Eric Durm: Because the club has great tradition and superb presence. I know it is difficult to defend the German title. But I am looking forward to this adventure. RN: What goals are you setting for yourself? Durm: First, I want to be a regular player for BVB in the 3. Liga. This is going to be hard enough. RN: And your ultimate goal? Durm: The professional (Bundesliga) team. I want to get closer to making it. RN: What are your offensive strengths? Durm: I’m more of a penalty area player. One who can benefit from the combination passing game and exploit the through ball. RN: What are your weaknesses? Durm: The header game is not really my strength. I still have to work on it. However, this will not necessarily prevent me from participating in a crossing game. RN: We’ve heard you are a very fast striker? Durm: Yes, I’m a good sprinter. I was clocked at 30 meters in 3.87 seconds. RN: Terrence Boyd was BVB II’s regular striker last season. Is his transfer your big chance? Durm: I cannot say this. BVB is so-well built that it does not depend on one player. There are also Marvin Ducksch and Soltanpour Kiyan. There is great competition here. And it will remain so. My Comments: Durm’s goal total this past season was tied for fifth-best in Regionalliga West. Of course, BVB II won Regionalliga West. The only BVB II players to score more than Durm this past season, were striker Terrence Boyd with 20 goals and midfielder Mario Vrancic with 14 goals. Durm is three years younger than Vrancic and a year younger than Boyd. As a matter of fact, Durm is the youngest player who was that high in the RW goal-scoring chart.......

Not bad. I'm anxious to see what Leverkusen looks like at the start of the season. That trip to Nuernberg to face FCN will be tougher than many think.
Julian Schieber Confident Borussia Dortmund Move Will Be A Success The young forward is keen to test himself playing for Jurgen Klopp's men, and revealed how his new coach convinced him to make the move to the Westfalenstadion "I agreed to join Dortmund because they are one of the hottest sides in football," beamed Schieber to SportBild. "I did not expect the move, but after speaking to Klopp, he immediately gave me a good feeling. "He told me, 'We want you because we know what you can do, and what we can get out of you' and that swept me off my feet. And I think I will fit in well at Dortmund. Click here for the full
I'm still torn. Right now, I'm thinking we win the league again, make the semis of the Cup and go out of the CL in the Round of 16. Don't think we're quite "there" yet.
I'm pretty sure the news will pick up once training camp starts. And especially once the Euro participants report back.
And I can't wait until the Bundesliga starts again! Euro is nothing in comparision to Bundesliga in my opinion.
Yeah and this will last for a very long time...we have a very decent squad again + more experience. I remember 5 years ago that awful start of the season agaist Duisburg when Ishiaku scored twice I think. And now we are watching developing a very great team. I expect Reus to rock the Bundesliga again!
It was mentioned during the press conference yesterday that BVB have "significantly" surpassed the 200mln EUR revenue mark for the year. Full numbers at the end of August. According to Deloitte revenues in excess of 200mln were good enough for a top ten spot for the 2010/11 season.
