Manuel Baum and Naldo facing heavy criticism as Schalke's issues continue to mount https://www.fussballtransfers.com/a...-team-kritik-an-baum-naldo-auswege-mangelware
Schalke are now around 240 million euros in debt. RIP https://m.bild.de/sport/fussball/fu...eine-gesamt-stoerung-74121106.bildMobile.html
Schalke have only themselves to blame. Years of mismanagement and terrible recruitment. Can see them ending up like Kaiserslautern at this rate.
hard pill to swallow Kaiserslautern gave us kickstart pro career of Ballack and Klose and tons of class players. Now you look at them and close to Relegation to RL from 3rd Liga.... what Schalke does have is an Academy with tons of promising players from U17-II. Them in debt will just make it easier on all their promising players to breakthrough.
Although anything can happen, I think Kaiserslautern would be an extreme case scenario for Schalke. Being in a pandemic also doesn't help in terms of not gaining any ticket sales revenues. I see them more of being the next HSV. Other clubs like Stuttgart and Hannover have also yo-yo'd back in forth in recent years bouncing between relegation and promotion.
On a different subject looking at the BL clubs in the CL this week. Yesterday Dortmund won easily again v Brugge, Haaland x2 becoming a record breaker (fastest player to reach 15+ goals in CL) while Leipzig lost narrowly in Paris to an iffy penalty. Dortmund can seal both qualification and top spot with a game to spare if they can beat Lazio at home next week. They need to start showing they can beat the stronger teams so this would be a good start. Leipzig were a bit unlucky to lose but are now behind PSG on head to head thanks to the away goal rule. It's a pretty tight group, vital for Leipzig to win in Turkey next week to give them a better chance. Tonight both Bayern and Gladbach have winnable opponents who they hit 6 against in the last round of games. Bayern can seal qualification with a win, whereas Gladbach can make sure of EL minimum if they can win, as well as giving themselves a good chance to qualify.
Leverkusen to be missing 7 players including the Bender bros for their EL match vs Hapoel Beer Sheva tomorrow. Mitch Weiser is also not registered for Europa https://www.kicker.de/bender-zwillinge-fehlen-bayer-ohne-sieben-gegen-hapoel-790633/artikel
Embolo is on fire first half. The Stindl penalty came from foul over him, he shot against the post and his goal came from overhead kick
Gladbach are playing with conviction which is impressive to see. They have the better players but Skakhtar aren't supposed to a terrible club. Good that BMG are taking care of business.
Oscar Wendt made it 4-0 from direct free kick. Wow, 10 goals from 2 match against Shakhtar Amazing performance from BMG
Double digit goals from home and away match with clean sheet on top of it. Can't ask better result from BMG. Sommer really important to keep the clean sheet on last 5 minutes. BMG very clinical, 4 goals all from set piece. Now hoping Inter and Real to draw and BMG only need to at least draw Inter on the next match to qualify.
Boateng, Alaba and Marc Roca all over the place Neuer just made a great save from one on one by Berisha.
Bayern defence all over the place. Put Javi in over Roca. Chris Richards quite good defensively, he showed better composure over Pavard so far
Vidal got red card after complaining to ref after initial yellow Can't believe this guy is so stupid considering his age. i really want Inter won or at least draw against Real to smooth BMG to next round. Now it seems impossible
Lewa made it 1-0. Salzburg much more dangerous but wasted too many chance. With Lewa, it is the opposite
Pavard overated anyways. but goes to show that 1st team chances at Bayern 100% linked with Flick favs. Zirkzee and Richards are decent at best in II and get 1st team chances. Mbi hasn't done anything and makes squads too. All players Flick likes, Musiala never dominated in 3rd Liga and all goals he scored were in same game is now permanent 1st team player too can't impress in 1st team if never given the chance. All German attackers Flick demands they score as much as possible in II while ones who don't play for Germany it doesn't matter if they score in II or not they just play II for match practice.... Salzburg should be up 2-1, lol.
