I should work for Metro Marketing. http://www.metrostars.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A025&Category_Code=Stuff
...but your dumbass will be nice and dry in your house, while all the real fans are out in the elements....
I'll be there. The rain improves the taste of the swill GS serves for beer. It's the acid, I guess, that gives the brew some body. Any chance Juskowiak will see some playiing time?
I read somewhere (maybe an e-mail from Soccer America) that he won't be here until Monday, due to "paperwork" problems.
Mezzanine, here I come. I'm not getting soaked again. The business about umbrellas not being allowed in is ridiculous. If they don't want people bringing in a large umbrella, that's one thing, but they should at least allow the mini-umbrellas like Totes.
Re: Re: Bring the ponchos this Saturday........... Are you driving to the game? If you are, wanna carpool?
Yeah, it's ridiculous. Why not just let every moron like you bring an umbrella and ruin the view of the playing field for everyone seated behind them? They must really have something against you.
Re: Re: Bring the ponchos this Saturday........... 80,000 seats divided by 10,000 fans in the seats = plenty of room for everyone and their umbrellas. It's about security, not view-blocking, in the stadium's mind, anyway.
Umbrella's have zero buisness in any stadium. It's only water, it's not going to hurt you if u get wet. If getting soaked bothers you just sit in the overhang section....if anyone w/ an umbrella sits in front of me it's going to be a new addition for that persons rectum.
Re: Re: Re: Bring the ponchos this Saturday........... You give the NJSEA way too much credit. The umbrella rule is a stadium rule and it is intended to stop selfish folks with umbrellas from obstructing the view of those behind them. The NJSEA applies its stadium rules across the board, regardless of whether they anticipate 10,000 or 80,000 people. It makes sense, as I would be far less comfortable with making stadium rules an arbitrary exercise by whatever moron happens to be wearing an NJSEA blazer on a given night.
Rain is annoying, except on "White tank-tops for Brazilian strippers" nights. MFO should definitely have one of those this fall.
Or you could spend the 6 bucks and get a poncho. They don't allow bottles with tops because they can be thrown. What makes you think they are going to allow something with a metal point, which could be used as a weapon.
Not all umbrellas have points. The little ones almost never do. And when was the last time a player in any sport in this country was accosted by an umbrella in any way. There's being security-conscious and careful, and then there's being stupid. On a day with threatening weather, let people have their umbrellas.
I was at a game in DC this year when they had umbrellas and I have to say it was almost as annoying as those damn horns. One umbrella blocks the view of three people. My point with the ponchos is that you can dress well enough, or you can move up under the mezzanine. This was the third rain game and far from the worst. The LA game made this one look like a sunny day. My jacket was still wet on the Monday after that game, it almost dry tonight.
