It indeed a very nice looking stadium. It looks like an exact replica of the HDC but with blue chairs. Cant wait until all MLS team have a SSS. Nice pics.
As far as I am concerned it has a stage so HDC still rules but yeah that is gonna be one sweet place to see a game. Can't wait to get up there to see our boys play.
One of the other threads mentioned the original stadium sponsor (some bank) having blue as there primary color. Not sure how that works however.
If it had red seats it'd be an exact replica of PHP, they probably wanted a bit of variation instead of looking like they copied Dallas.
very nice looking stadium. i really like the red brick outside. though, and this is ultimately a biased decision. i think elements at victoria street elevate it above bridgeview. lalas hill, the tennis court, and the stadium club seem to enclose the space a bit more. at the south end of bridgeview you can see out in to parking lot. maybe it's just the pictures, but it seemed to diminish the size a bit. still it's cool that this league is really starting to grow up; the chicago fans and team are going to have a great venue to call home.
PHP doesnt have the roof. I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the roof. Its sure a good thing that Juergen suggested we build the HDC with one.
I believe the reason for installing blue seats is because red seats would stand out more when the seats are empty. Lets hope that's not an issue.
That's such a silly thing to say. I mean, you have most of the fans wearing read, what's going to stand out more, read seats or blue seats?
I think that all new stadiums built will now have stages. The reason for the stage to be added is for the venue to make extra money by making concert cause it the investors know that it will not generate profit by only hosting soccer games. I am sure glad though that the HDC does not have a stage makig it the "ONLY" true SSS. Agree or Disagree?
agreed. while i would rather have an SSS with a stage than play at the rose bowl the stage just screams "soccer can't make money by itself". on the other hand, i hate it when dave matthews brings his distinct brand of pap to victoria street and bollocks up the field.
Very True and I did not think of that but I was reffering to all the new stadiums that are currently in the plans after the HDC was built. Bridgeview; Includes a stage Pizza Hut: Includes a stage New York and Colorado will include a stage aswell. But yes! you do have a point, good catch
Bridgeview's stage won't be nearly as bad as the pizza place. With seats and a party deck there will be people all over it as opposed to a big empty expanse like frisco. Also, colorado's won't have a stage but it will be three sided as if they were going to have a stage.
