Todays La Opinion Newspaper is claiming that Brazil has been invited to the Gold Cup. In case they turn down the offer Peru will take their place. I wouldnt mind seeign Brazils U-20 squad.

Comparing the total attendance ("Assistence"? C'mon, VS, an American like you should speak the language better than that :D) of 1998 to the average attendance of 2002 is bad logic. Plus, you left out the fact that the 2000 final was also at the Moseleum. This of course shows that Mexicans in LA have a severe superiority complex when it comes to soccer, but we knew that already.

But remember, the Crooked Cuban/Crooked Carribean Alliance has given up on you and moved the tournament to the eastern seaboard. This is probably why there are rumors of courting Brazil. Personally, I'd still rather see a pure confederation championship, but if it takes the Selecao's thrid string to knock the Green Rats out of the GC as opposed to South Korea's second string, than hey, who am I to argue?

I would also like to see an all TFC Cup but then again i would prefer TFC teams competing in Copa America. Anyhoo the new Mexican coach is allready talking about reclaiming the Gold Cup. So it looks like el Tri will be bringing its best possible squad and not another B'Team..

It seemed like in the last Gold Cup Mexico really sent a C team. Good to hear that the best team Mexico has to offer will be there. That's the only way the tourney will gain respect and be more valuable to all the countries.

Mexico has no choice anymore after the World Cup loss to the USA.

Any more losses to the USA at any level and it can't be passed off as a fluke win.

That is a good news for the Gold Cup. Like they say Brazil is Brazil. They are the world champ and this will give the cup a different taste. A final between Brazil vs USA or Costa Rica or Mex at the Home Depot will look nice internationally. At least that is my opinion

Anyone who has been watching Mexico and the USA play in the last few matches did not call it a "fluke win" except a few who can't accept the truth on these boards.
I'm sure will put a few more "fluke" goals past Mexico next time also.
Just check the goal agregate again in WC qualification and the WC again if you forgot.

My understanding is that our national team is the Concacaf winner, and did better in the world cup. With that said. USA is the actual champion of the region.

your preaching to the choir here. I know the USA beat Mexico outright.

I was reffering to the few who do not realize this.

    gold cup

I would love to play Brazil, after all the United States beat Brazil in the 98 edition on top of a stellar performance from kasey keller. Does anyone know the venues for the gold cup? I heard they were playing in the summer so as to have matches in cold weather cities ie Seattle, Columbus, New York, Boston. Anyone have a clue?

If they bring Diego, Robinho and Adriano that would be cool. However there are various good prospects in Brazils U-23 that i wouldnt mind watching Mexico defeat. Cant wait to see their List of players..

Don't be too confident Styles, you may run into a team of U-23's wanting to make a big statement for the coach.

Besides you know the Yanks are going to win it all anyhow. :D

Its been known for a while that Brazil was sending the U23 team coached by Rocardo Oliveira, I dont understand why the media is only now anouncing this. This has been comon knowledge in Brazil for at least 2 months.
