Frankly, those of us over 30 should have more of an appreciation for these guys than the kids today. If you're over 30 and the lyrics of "1985" don't amuse you at least a little, you're a nerd. Seriously.

Ah, that's them? I know that.

Blah....good to see MLS got in just ahead of 'Hit Me One More Time' and Vernon Kay and his crap hair.

Yup. Any band that sings about 80's hair bands and parachute pants is a band that has nostalgia lyrics. Unless, of course, you were attempting spelling smack, in which case, you are wrong.

After having watched that video - will say the music is average - which is fine. I'm a 5'11" 177 pound white guy - who graduated with 2.2 GPA ... so I know all about being average.

But the video was funny. The lyrics were good. The band is amusing.

    I approve.

MLS never gets any musical genres during halftime shows that I even like...oh well.

Yeah, that song's funny. It's about Wichita Falls. And they're right. :)

Another reason to get rid of the All*Star game...the halftime entertainment is more unknown than the players.

While I think they suck, they're from Texas so why not. I've (unfortunately) seen them live once and they're definetly annoying and alcoholics but they're safe "pop-punk" so let 'em play.

I recognize the 1985 song but had no idea who sung it. Not my favorite choice of music for the show. My choice would be Widespread Panic, String Cheese Incident, or Ziggy Marley. But of course if this was the case Hejduk (if playing) would be smokin' it up, too high to play :)

Punk poser bands suck. 13 year old girls like that crap. Bowling for Soup? Could you have a lamer name? Well, String Cheese Incident (sorry m vann, not into "jam bands")...

Bands with food products in their name=pansies!

SCI is a lame name but good music You'll probably kill me when I throw out my love for bluegrass music (hint--if you think it's popular in KY because that's where I live--you're wrong) :)

Why did images from the South Park jam band episode just pop into my head? Will they need Cartman's giant drill to get the players back out on the field?

I've given it a lot of thought, and given the international scope of the sport, I think we should invite Green Day.

Do US Soccer fans really want to be taken back to 1985?

This thread is living proof that MLS fans are a bunch of whiners. Just have some fun guys. Bowling For Soup may not be haute couture but they are goofy fun.

Everywhere and Nowhere.....I'm the wind, baby.
Since I don't believe I've ever heard of them (49 yo has-been who has to sleep with the radio or tv on to drown out that ringing in the ears due to years of listening to the music too loud.......which is really the only way to listen to it), I thought I'd conduct a scientific poll and ask my 12 year old son:

"They're pretty good." Then I asked them if they were as good as 'Green Day', 'cky', or 'HIM' (his favorites.....this week anyway) - he said no, but they're more of a pop band.

I'll complete my research later this evening when my 18 yo daughter comes home from work.
