We may go out to Spurs but two of United, PSG, Liverpool and Bayern will be joining us. From their performances so far, Barcelona and Real aren't safe either. Of all the trash talk from last year it would be funny if Barca fail and Roma go through. Juve vs Athletico will be a cracker of a boring match.
I was wrong and Atletico was magnificent. Under Cholo they've never been booted out by any club other than Real Madrid from the CL. So we are the worst club in the R16. Even S04 has a hope in hell.
If only more German clubs had the fighting spirit/winning mentality that Atletico possess then maybe the BL as a whole would fare better in Europe. I don't particularly like Atleti but you have to respect their strength of character and mindset.
Atletico have a winning mindset. They are hard working and fold to NO club. Over the last few years their squad has gotten deeper but they lack the tigerish Costa from 2014. Off the pitch they're also quite remarkable given what an enormous debt they've accumulated which they are simultaneously paying off while competing with the best in Europe.
