This could be the make or break year for the Chicago Fire.
Club9 has experience and, apparently, money behind it.
If they can find a suitable place to play, there is a possibility of the Sting burying the Fire.

I don't know how I feel about this.

I have the utmost respect for Peter Wilt.
I was a big Sting fan back in the day.
I think having an MLS team in Chicago(ish) is very important.
I will definitely follow the Sting should this come to pass (especially if they play in Chicago)
However, I don't want to abandon the Fire (which is why I renewed for 2016 in the face of all rational reasons to the contrary).

Sting starts in NASL, buys out Hauptman and moves the Sting to MLS?
    Wilt back where he belongs.
Sting name returns to the top tier of MLS.
    I could live with that.

I'm glad I ditched my season tickets to the Fire. Now I can spend that money on the Sting. I always thought I would stay with the Fire, but the vulture capitalist has torn everything good about the Fire from the top down and there is nothing left.

Will be behind the Sting all the way. I know it's crappy soccer quality wise, but so are the Fire.

I assume that is meant to emphasize the city portion because the current pro teams play in Bridgeview.

I'm curious as to how many of us on here watched the Sting back in the day. I primarily attended the outdoor version. I did go to a few indoor games but never did enjoy it very much. I'm grateful my parents took me to games.

I don't have much of a connection at all. I grew up in KC who only briefly had the "Spurs" in NASL and they were before my time. Like many people in the midwest, I pulled for Chicago teams when it was in a sport that my city didn't have a team, but that support was pretty shallow. Meaning, I watched a few games on tv and jumped on the playoff bandwagon of the Sting, so I remember the big players, colors, logos etc. Never went to a game. Having said that, I love history in all sports, so I wasn't one of the negative guys when the Cosmos came back into existence. Bring on the Sting. I think this can be fantastic and with Peter in charge, the sky is the limit.
