Bolivar U17 tied again, this time with New Soccer of Colombia (again 1-1). They were wining but then the Colombians got a penalty in the 2nd half and tied the game.

they still got two more games against Honduras' U-17 and Ecuador's U-17, but I have no idea what the results of the other games are to know if they got a shot to making it to the next round. I'm just glad they're getting some international playing time regardless of the results

Great future prospect, lets hope Spain doesn't notice him to much for the U-tournaments

Even if they do, he can switch to us later on.

Personally, I hope he does play for them so he can develop even further.

Very cool, and ambitious. So this is not officially tied back to Barcelona or it is?

I don't think so, the coach did earn his credentials and worked there, but moved on a year ago.

The real test is if these kids go on to play for the first team. Trophies are great...but youth development is all about serving the first team.

Agreed, now there is a good amount of players that came up through the youth team in Bolivar, just not starting yet.
On other youth player news La U de Chile has once again surprisingly signed a Bolivian player. This time it's Bruno Miranda who plays for Tahuchi academy. Not sure how official this is but it's pretty exiting news.

I saw El Gato Fernandez has played a role in getting both players. Is he working now for La U? I remember he was their keeper at one point in his career. He quit Bolivar. Did he leave to go work for them? That's good too.

El Gato Fernandez and Juan Manuel Peña got together and have their own agency representing players, they're independent from any club or company. I guess their names alone is all the credentials they need.

    That's pretty awesome.

I remember Pena was getting his coaching licenses at one point. Interesting to see he went into player representation. Good for him. I remember at one point it was just 1 guy from Argentina that had control of our WHOLE national team and who supposedly screwed our guys over with some shitty moves.

Yeah I remember reading about JuanMa and Gato getting together to start their own firm and they were signing everybody up to represent them. Good move by them.

They just got Bombas kid signed with Nacional from Uruguay. They signed yesterday while Nacional was in town to give Oriente their beat down in Sudamericana. Gato announced it on his facebook. The kid will move to Uruguay and signed for two years. He'll spend the first year in reserves and then hopefully he impresses enough for a longer term deal and makes the first team. He's 17 and apparently Mojica is his uncle. Hopefully he doesn't have his dads appetite or speed nor his uncles propensity to shrink on the national team or on teams abroad. Hopefully he does well.
