In fairness if the two calls were as bad as it sounds, especially seeing as it was the same official as always in the middle of it all I'd argue you're not a futbol fan if you can just overlook a team getting screwed that badly. But I'm not going to debate it because I didn't see it, I just came in here to see what you guys thought. Regardless of the situation it sucks to see officiating take over a game, especially that piece of shit Amarilla.
At times it's seemed like he's just being an over animated attention whore. We'll see one of our guys sent off before it's all said and done.
He's a horrible ref but offside calls are on the linemen. They also called one wrong on Sachez Mino that could have led to a Boca goal. Cest la vie!
He's built a reputation for himself that way. Oh well give Newell's hell (don't necessarily win though), we've got 3 points to makeup in 6 weeks.
That's how you win away from home! Corinthians tried to make it a game in the second half but Boca over the three Libertadores matches have really played with balls. The Don just cant score a goal in the Libertadores, it has to be a golazo.
I almost forgot to praise Augustin Orion for being a ********ing man-beast. As usual he was huge and imho a much better keeper than Romero.
Orion 9 Marin 6 Caruzzo 6 Burdisso 6 Clemente 6 Erbes 6 Somoza 7 Erviti 8 Sanchez Mino 6 Riquelme 10 Blandi 5 Viatri 5 Bravo 6 Zarate 6 I was going to give a 10 to Riquelme until he ran out of gas. Edit: What the hell, he still gets a 10!
LOL! That is awesome! I hope Ramon keeps wishing us luck. And Erviti was huge tonight. After Riquelme and Orion I thought he was the third man of the match.
I think i woke my neighbours at 0230 this morning when roman scored that goal, ima. Complete zombie at hat time of day, but that GOLAZO sent me crazy! Great performance, and for all the amargos saying we robbed the game. Wo gives a ******** if the ref made a few mistakes? We have had so many bad decisions this year against us that we reslly deserve some luck back our way. If people wanna see why corinthians lost, take a look at how pato missed an open goal from about a metre out. Despite the chances corinthians had, i never felt frightened last night, despite the fact caruzzo and co were at the back, we were solid. Btw, erviti is finally being apprciated at long last. I always liked him and thought his contribution was underratednand negated with roman around, but right now he is showing that he is worth every penny
I hate to say it, after Roman scores such a golazo and Orion was brilliant in the 2nd half, but my man of the match was Ervitti. Boca came out with a fire and energy that was awe-inspiring. The pressing them boys were putting on Corinthians was next level, and it was spearheaded by Ervitti. The dude was everywhere. Add to that JSM, Erbes, Clemente,& Blandi being very active, & a backline that looked to have some idea of what it was doing, Corinthians looked positively lost at times during the first half. Predictably, they slowed down a lot in the 2nd half, but still a very good performance overall. Ervitti's usefulness has never been lost on me, though I do reproach him that his final product on the offensive end leaves something to be desired. Still, he's the type of player I could find a spot for on any team, and he should be a fan favorite of any team he plays for.
