Could the long nightmare finally be over? Boca actually looks like Boca tonight. They did play okay mid week too. Maybe they can have things sorted in time to start the Libertadores.
Now THAT was Boca. That spell of play before the goal. wow. EDIT - 0h, and Carltios was a little special there.
The stream I'm watching is about 90 seconds ahead of yours, I think. So Literally as I was hitting post, Maxi was scoring. Good response from the team though.
That was the best game Boca has played in a while. Especially the first half. Tevez was a monster. And the kids played well - Cubas, Betancur and 17 year old Molina. Things are looking up.
Great match last night....Molina is very, very good football player and He has a big talent. But I think we need some great player for central midfielder.
I would wholeheartedly agree with you, if I knew the spanish for 'Iron curtain' that is what I would dub him.
Kid's real good. So it Betancur. Looks like Molina is promising too. What's the over/under on how many games before Gago gets hurt?
I'd give Gago a few more weeks yet, then he can have his annual 6 week mid-mid season break. On a serious note though Gago is so important to this team for me, when he plays well everyone tends to play well. Nice to see such an influx of youngsters coming through again, we had a tiny dry spell a few years ago, but it's all systems go again now as pertaining to the conveyer belt of talent coming into La Bombonera. More to come hopefully as well, Messidoro looks a promising talent, Pavon (although a signing) hasn't really been brought to the fore yet. I don't know if I'm in a minority here, but I hope we take the brave approach and persevre with el Vasco, even if we have blips in form. I really believe in what he is doing at the club, the brand of football is on the whole really pleasing on the eye and effective. Add to that he understadns the importance of nurturing talent and bringing players through, I really think we have a really good coach on our hands.
I think these past couple wins have bought him some time. It was a disaster before that. I don't like being trigger happy so I'm a bit relieved things have turned the corner it seems. The kids look good which is a very important thing.
Boca visits Racing. VS Sunday Feb 28 19:15 (Hora Argentina) Stadium: Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Perón Ref: Jorge Baliño VAMOS BOOOOOCA!!!!!! Likely lineup: Slight change in the midfield today, Cubas and Lodeiro come out for Perez and Meli. It's going to be weird playing these guys again Thursday in the Libertadores, lol. Racing has beaten us 4 times in a row in all competitions including a 3-1 loss in last year's torneo. Have to turn that around!
You can watch the game at http://www.americatv.com.ar/vivo.html I think. At least it works so far but the game hasn't started yet.
Funny game this. Racing had one chance and put it away. We've been dominating possession and look good up until the last third when we lack a little quality.
I don't like it, but that's how it is in Argentina. Always hair trigger firings. I find it hard to believe it's all the manager's fault when he had no problems last year. But he was certainly carried a bit by the talent and the enthusiasm of Tevez returning.
Realisticakky, Guillermo for Arruabarrena is bad news for everybody else. You can't maintain success, or at the very least a high level of play turning the team over like Boca does, buying every name available whenever they're available. I think at the very least Guillermo will give the team an identity and a consistent idea and style of play that Arruabarrema lost hold of.
