Recent announcement: On July 24 the Washington Freedom will be giving away Jacqui and Skylar Little bobbleheads, and Siri Mullinix bobbles on August 4. http://washingtonfreedom.com/313135.html
That day has come and passed. Instead of the Friedel and Valderrama bobbles, they gave away Crew Cat. Mike Turco has been looking into that. Also, while I'm at it: Someone has a mockup of a Zidane and Figo bobblehead. This is similar to the Carlos Valderrama Tampa demo that was made, but when he was dealt to Colorado, they decided to make Diallo instead. The Zidane and Figo demos are up for bid until tonight--it isn't made by Bobble Dreams or AGP, I presume, but it looks like a good collectable. Not fetching as much as the Friedel bobble, which went for $100. Cheers!
that ebay seller mentions in his description that these dolls will be released in North America- anyone know anything about this [or what trading card company is running the campaign?]?
Take everything in an EBay description with a grain of salt. If I had a dollar for every time I read - rare, or one of a kind, on EBAY I would be a rich man
It's the old consumer caveat--let the buyer beware... Anyway, this should answer who is on the bobblehead docket, at least for MLS: http://www.mlsnet.com/content/02/weekly0416.html That's the gist of who will be given away for this season. It does not mention the Marco Etcheverry or Bobby Convey bobbleheads that were given away as part of the season ticket promotion. Cheers!
wait, are they sure there'll be a "separate line" that will be sold in stadiums from the ones given out??? it seems like all the bobbles are the same- there's only 1 Donovan Earthquakes one, 1 Galaxy Jones, etc. anyone know if this is a mistake, or if there actually will be different models of the same player sold at stadiums [which is kind of hard to believe seeing how the season is starting to wind down]
The ones given away at the stadiums and the ones being sold on ebay look similar--no difference whatsoever, at least from what I've seen. Cheers!
Can anyone put together a master list of Bobbleheads Available? Convey Etchevery Donovan-USA Donovan-Earthquakes
2001: Mamadou Diallo Jeff Agoos Bobby Convey Marco Etcheverry Landon Donovan - US Joe Cannon - fan club 2002: Landon Donovan - SJ Carlos Valderamma Brian McBride Cobi Jones Clint Mathis Josh Wolff Brad Friedel Stern John (don't think that has been released yet) Crew Cat I think that is all for the men - I don't particularly care for the women so maybe someone else can fill in that blank
Tony Meola should be added to the list. There was a Stern John floating around on ebay, but it won't be out until August 14. The women for the record: 2002: Tiffeny Milbrett Lorrie Fair Heather Mitts Jacqui Little Skylar Little Siri Mullinix Zap (New York Power mascot) Men's list was correct Douglas. Any more? Cheers!
Speaking of which, the Tony Meola bobbles are fetching a high bid. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1847159234 The first one, which was sold to ****** (name withheld), fetched for $76.50, including shipping and handling. I'm going to suspect this is going to be in demand as well. Actually this one was able to grab a Stern John bobble. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1846344113 I would not be surprised if the second Friedel too fectched for $100. The ones to watch out for are the sniped bids. In this case, this one was willing to spend a ton of money and hence put in the last bid that put him over the top. I don't think it's anyone here, but as they say bidding is a competitive process so watch out. So as long as they are willing to fork the money, they will get it. Cheers!
A bit less (about $90) but still high for the Friedel bobble. The bid didn't get sniped this time. According to Mike here at Club Quake, the Friedel and Stern John bobbles will be tough to get because they are no longer in the MLS stable so the only way to get them would be by way of the collectors. If supply increases later on, and alas to say July 21 was the Friedel bobble giveaway to the kids and none showed up on ebay, the price will go down and the demand would probably increase. I'm not the economics expert but that's how the market goes. Cheers!
I have an extra Mamadou bobble - if anyone has a Cannon, Meola, or Friedel who would like to work out a trade let me know
FYI - the Meolas have flooded the market and have pushed the price down to others (no longer in the Friedel category)
Yes, since a few of them have appeared on the market the price has gone down considerably. $70 was the highest one, and the second highest went for $51. On average, between $20 and $40 for them. The Friedel one is still rare, and the third one has already appeared for bid. It's low now but it will get high in a bit. Cheers!
If anyone is interested I also received an extra Marco bobblehead at the DC golf outing yesterday. PM me if interested
I'll trade you a Cannon for a Diallo. We're trying to put together a couple complete sets to auction at the Club Quake year-end party. I'm also looking for Tony Meola, Bobby Convey, Brad Friedel, and Stern John. I can also trade Landon Donovan Earthquakes bobbles. Email or PM me. mike_turco@clubquake.org
The old standby known as ebay. ----- There should be some floating around, on average $30. The high end bid usually goes for $40, and if you are quick enough to get it with Buy It Now $20. Nap
