Plus goalie even 13. Well I guess that was the joke? In 17 hours he won't have anything to laugh about any longer! =D
You must not be a math major b/c it's actually 13 with the GK. I think that's what he's saying....he feels he'd need 13 to be competitive...enough to pack into the box to stymie our efforts, but also leaving a couple available to counter... He realizes he faces a tough task at the Allianz tomorrow. I'm not excited by the potential logjam in the Mainz penalty area... We'd better capitalize on a couple of early opportunities to draw them out...otherwise it could make for a long 90 min.
We need Gomez to score early, Van Gaal should also instruct Schweinsteiger, Gomez, Muller and Robben to shoot from far away. We start taking long shots, one of them will go in or they will start coming at us to stop us.. which will give others space to do their business. And believe it or not, I am actually really good at math. Got 100% in my last year of high school without even trying, maybe it's because I haven't had any lessons in college that I've gotten "slower".
I wouldn't mind starting out with a super attacking and pressing gameplay for the first half, seeing as how we have Ribery coming on for the second half. Taking long shots is a good idea for the first 15-20 minutes IMO. Ribery vs. an exhausted Mainz midfield and defence... mmmmm

Well, whoever wanted attacking straight away is getting it!!! Bayern on a mission, have missed two quality chances already. (9th min) Gomez again is just too incoherent of others in better scoring positions than himself when he is in front of goal. He simply should have let that low driven serve from Robben go through his legs to the two WIDE open Bayern players on the back of the 6. One of these days he will learn.
Yes we do. Nice to see we picked up where we left off. And this is always a tough nut to crack for Bayern it seems... teams that park in front of goal. The beauty is our flank play... with Robben and eventually Ribery, we should open the game up with their knifing runs down the flank and stretch the defense out. Hopefully.
Robben, great strike from him between 4 defenders Olic JUST misses his 2nd potential header today. Bayern knocking on the door boys!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that Olic header was a touch behind him. Robben looks on fire again! His strikes have some venom in them. Somebody PLEASE just stand next to Heinz Mueller... he has spilled 3 balls already today. Gomez good pull back move... that's better from him. Wasted corner from Bayern.
a propos robben, this was a nice shot, cut in kind of like lahm used to do some years ago (just from the right side)
