I tuned into the game on the Spanish Fox Sports network just before that happened. What an immature display there. I was scared for the police., They seemed to be overrun by these guys for a little while, but they eventually got the situation under control.
They must have learned from Boca Juniors last year... when they were being eliminated by Chivas de Guadalajara the place went to hell in a handbag. Martin Palermo was headbutting people, the coach spat at Bofo (Chivas striker) and bottles were being thrown on the field. It wasnt until Oswaldo Sanchez ran to the referee with a whiskey bottle that he finally called the game. Chaos!
I heard the game in the Paraguayan broadcast, and they had people all over the place, Their version of the incident is that when the announcers said over the speakers that RIver plate fans would have to wait an extra 1/2 hour after the game, to exit the stadium, those idiots decided to start rioting.
