Just had my annual McDonald's Shamrock Shake earlier today. Will likely have at least one more on or near St. Patrick's Day next month. -G
I finally had Jack in the Box’s new Pumpkin Spice Oreo Cookie Shake (dubbed “Basic Witch”) yesterday and will make sure to have at least one more before the end of the month. -G
I finally tried a shake at 5 Guys - got a chocolate/malt - pretty darned good, could have been a little thicker
Sounds intriguing. Five Guys will now be my next stop on my Milkshake Quest. Thanks for the heads up. -G
I have a 5 guys right around the corner and never realized they have shakes. Going to check it out. Anyone have a Culver’s near them? They call it “ custard “ but it’s a milkshake, they aren’t fooling anyone. Damn good though. I know it dabbles in a grey area as far as being a shake, but the Dairy Queen chocolate blizzard with peanut butter cups is fantastic.

It used to be a tradition for me to have it at least once this time of year. Lately I just make floats with green river soda which is a traditional thing here in Chicago.

I think I have had one or two Shamrock Shake in my life. As I recall, it was okay, but tasted rather like, and had the mouth feel of, cold hand cream. Maybe I will try one again.
By the way, Culver's shakes and concretes, both made with fresh (often seconds old) frozen custard, are way better than just about any other fast food shake.
Stooped by McDonalds earlier this week and got an adult Happy Meal - comes with this concoction called a McDonaldLand Shake - it was white on the bottom, became more and more blue as you got to the top and was topped with some red whipped-cream-looking stuff. I never did figure out what exact flavor(s) it was supposed to be, but it smelled a bit like raspberry maybe - it was very sweet to be sure. Best part was as you drank it and swirled it around, and the colors started to mix, it ended up being what I called a Grimace Shake (purple)
I basically ate that four or five times a week in grad school (23 years old). I didn’t die. But whenever I do die, it will probably be a few years earlier than otherwise.

Though not a milkshake, the Costco food court has also just gotten into the St. Patrick's Day spirit with a limited-time double chocolate mint sundae. -G
After coming across this thread yesterday, I actually stopped at McDonalds for a Shamrock Shake this afternoon. Of course, after I ordered "food" that I did not really want (but felt weird just asking for a shake at the drive thru), I asked for the shake and, of course, they did not have them. So, I had crappy food I did not want and did not get the crappy shake that I did want. Well, I shared the fries with the dog.
