I'm glad the USLD2 will finally be getting a 10th team. But I have reservations about Bermuda. It is now official, so I guess we'll have to see what happens.

Anybody have a picture of the stadium Bermuda would be playing at. From its nickname it sounds like a fantastic venue.

Dang, and I thought a road trip to Puerto Rico was a long trip.

Actually, since all of the USL2 clubs are on the east coast, I think Vancouver-Puerto Rico is still the longest road trip.

Hopefully the team won't be nicknamed the Triangles... or visiting teams disappear on the way to or from a match there...

There is still the concern about visa. Considering the myth about the Bermuda Triangle(or whatever you call it), it makes me feel glad that I don't fly.

The Bermuda Triangles would be a superb name. When they play some away games in New Hampshire we could have Mary Celeste night and wonder where all the fans vanished.

Vancouver-Puerto Rico is now the longest road trip in N American sports. On ESPN a couple of years back they mentioned that when the Montreal Expos played some 'home' games in PR they had to fly to Seattle and it was the longest road trip a pro team had to endure beating out a Florida vs Alaska game in the East Coast Hockey League. They then told or a Russian hockey team that flew like 8 time zones and 15 hours to get from Riga Latvia to Vladivostock for a regular game.

Vladivostok is now in the Russian first division in soccer, so that sucks for all the other teams.

3,991 miles = Moscow to Vladivostok
3,787 miles = Vancouver to San Juan

Bermuda is small population and size wise, but we're adding a great footballing culture to the USL2. I'm somewhat surprised they don't join the USL1. Perhaps the ownership thinks there's promotion/relegation?

    USL2 has less travel costs.

Well USL teams should also be scared if their flying to PR or Miami sence does are the other two corners of the triangle. Bermuda should come to the USL 1 so we can have something like the triangle cup :)

Your forgetting, Bermuda is USLD2, the Northwest is D1. The reason Bermuda is entering the D2, is because of their finances, as I remember reading. But I still feel that our teams travel out there will be a strain on the finances, no matter who pays the bill. If their going to host us(financially), they better draw well for every game.

This is probably more of a trial run... they could always buck up more $$$ if everything pans out.

Good attendence and good results would probably lead them to making the jump after their first season, if they wish.

A boon for football, but can both the USL and ISL succeed?
