http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/story/0,6903,716574,00.html This is an older article I found about the "banana kick". It's from 2002 so some of you may have read this/it may have been posted awhile back but it's kind of intresting to read being that it's a bit older and it's by Rivelino. Example: http://www.kenn.com/sounds/rc_bender2.mpeg
yea that one was sweet. i heard this last season that he had a similar one that hit the bar. my friend said it broke 100 km/h
Ahh, then i'm wrong I bet... yep -> http://observer.guardian.co.uk/worldcup2002/story/0,11031,738472,00.html "And third, there is the fierce power of his left foot - according to various detailed studies, he routinely fires the ball, typically from free-kicks, at 105mph."
I've never had my shot clocked, but I'd be willing to bet it's in the neighborhood of the pro's. As far as that super bendy shot by R. Carlos, that's pretty sweet. I can do about that much bend with the outside of my right foot for a wicked right curve. I score with it all the time, but not from dead balls, from breakaways. I get the keeper to come out, and the second I see him move I put the right foot outside shot in from 18-22 yards. Almost every time it looks like it's going wide, and it always curves back in. Yay for bending!
Hey, I'm not trying to say I'm Roberto Carlos! I figured this might be a good thread to talk about bending.
ye, very good- tony carss( hudersfield) did 1 very similar against torquay in stopage time last season
That ball look so beautiful the way it dipped dowm so fast. He bombed that ball. Imagine getting hit in the head with that.
