AEG is announcing they are moving the Quakes on Friday. Thus begins the journey to bring an expansion team to the bay...
Time for a new forum. This time, cut out the Bay Area bullshh//tt and call it San Francisco. Unfortunately, this forum will last decades because that's how long it will take to get a stadium done here.
The new forum should be called "Northern California" to include the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento.
yea why doesn sacramento get a team? they only have the Kings to compete and Sac is surrounded by millions of suburbs.
From the sounds ofthe press conferenece, the options are: 1. San Jose 2. San Jose 3. San Jose or as the dark horse candidate... 4. San Jose
Ya. Just move the whole SJE forum over here. Or better yet, add a new 'Team in Exile" board, for the Quakes.
Hello! Where do you think Miami and Tampa fans have been posting for years? Anyway, there is still hope in SJ. from mlsnet.com
Nice article about A's owner Wolff and his perspective. He certainly seems geared up for San Jose as the SSS location of choice but on the other hand isn't beholden to San Jose to the exclusion of all other Bay Area possibilities. http://sanjose.bizjournals.com/sanjose/stories/2005/12/19/daily36.html?page=1
Mls In Sac Sacramento needs a pro soccer team! I live north of sacramento but made the long drive to Earthquakes games with some friends 2 to 3 times a year. It would be great to have an MLS team, but i'd still support a USL team or MISL team. Right now the closest team is the MISL Cougars from Stockton. Its stupid how Garber assures another san jose earthquake team. Let Sacramento or San Francisco try MLS instead. Besides, a new expansion earthquakes would probably suck (expansion teams usually do) and would be even poorerly supported than the old earthquakes, which only got good attendance when they were winning
