I'm with you on waiting, but I've there are dual players out there. I haven't done any serious research on them, though.

Considering that you can get quality HD DVD and Blu-ray players cheaper than the combo players I would stay away from combos.

Incredibly expensive, even for more early adopters. The only mass market one I've seen is from LG, but it runs $1000. The rest are from smaller manufacturers that don't supply to the big box stores. I know Samsung is planning to release one, if they haven't already. I've loosely followed the battle, but I know that it will be some time before I can afford one of either player, much less a dual format. I'm in enough trouble as it is for buying the TV and new surround soud....and that was two years ago!

Me think we got some answers to some of these questions tonight.

I liked a number of things about this movie, including the "old school" Cylons and ships and the fleshing out of stories that Pegasus's XO told Colonel Tigh when the two ships first met.

But they finally gave us a real character and took her away.

I liked the Shaw character, but we really don't need another tortured soul in this cast.

Just got around to watching the Razor, and man I thought it was hawt.

I think Admiral Cain is the best, and it was brilliant to bring her back even if only for this one last time. I loved how they tried to show her in a more sympathetic light, and her having a prior relationship with the model 6 was a nice addition to the story.

The Kendra Shaw character was pretty good too, even if it covered a lot of the same ground as previous characters and episodes. Still it was nice seeing a new face and I would not have minded if she had stuck around for season 4.

Really was a bit surprised that this one was as good as it was since it seemed like BSG was going down hill earlier this year. Now I'm psyched again for the final season. I have a feeling that there's gonna be some crazy shit happening this spring before it's all said and done. I loved the clip at the end (in the season 4 previews) with Starbuck freaking out that they were going the wrong way.

I have to admit I wasn't nearly as impressed as all of you seem.

Shaw could've been a decent character but her whole purpose and everything we saw from her was clichéd. Especially the ending.

They fleshed out the events described in season 3 by the Pegasus XO, but the stuff that was actually new to Razor brings up more questions.

What is up with the Cylon in the tub? Why are old-school cylons protecting him? How does this fit into the Cylon plan? (Are the Cylons at war with older cylons?)

Personally I would've preferred a show that was more about the Pegasus surviving and developing the characters than one that tried to tie itself to the current storyline and ended up not having enough time to make Shaw and others real characters and not just plot devices.

I'm eager to get to season 4 but Razor didn't do much for me.

A tortured soul is one forced to watch the Apollo / Starbuck love/hate relationship.

Shaw felt more like a real person to me than most of the other characters.

I think one of the main reasons I liked it is I pretty much hate all of the main characters by now and just don't want to see them again:

    Roslyn
    Adama
    Starbuck
    Apollo
    Dee
    Athena

I'd be fine if they all got into a ship and it blew up and the show moved on without them. So a 2-hour episode that was largely focused on other characters was a nice change.

Athena still holds potential for me....

But yes, the major draw for me continues to be Baltar and his inner #6.

And Caprica and her inner Baltar kept that going for me.

This whole "they have a plan" stuff has been getting on my nerves since the end of last season. They may have a plan but it's certain that the writers of this show don't. I was hoping that the Cylons were being manipulated or influenced by another race (ala Count Iblis in "War of the Gods" in the TOS). But this doesn't seem to be the case, so whatever.

Razor certainly fleshed out Cain & showed what her command did to influence her subordinates. Michelle Forbes is an underrated actress & I wonder what she would've brought to Deep Space Nine had she not decided to leave Trek.

My favorite parts were the attack on the shipyards and Pegasus' blind jump (did you see how many people were literally thrown from the ship as it broke it's moorings). The Razor flashbacks didn't add too much but it gave us some TOS "porn" with the classic Basestars, Raiders and Vipers doing battle.

Personally, this series could do well to emulate the original series. Conflicts were everywhere but in the end, everyone banded together to save humanity. This cast of characters is still "the mob" and it makes you wonder if humanity is worth saving.

Well, Tory Foster's worth saving. I don't care if she's a toaster or not- she is foyin (fine)!:D
