I got that same text about a day or two ago, though I'll only be able to pick up both the game (PC version) and the official strategy guide this morning. At least they're both already fully paid for. I'll still need to finish the last four missions of BF3's single-player campaign before I can start playing BF4, though (hopefully it won't take me more than a day or two). -G
I even got a phone call from the store local to my office, where I'll be picking it up soon, to let me know they were having a midnight release. Never done that before, though, and I'm too old as it is to try and stay up that late on a "school night".
The store where I picked up my copy of B4 and its official strategy guide also passed out free 8.4 oz. cans of Red Bull as part of the game's promotion. -G
Liking the SP campaign so far, on hard difficulty for shiggles (humblebrag), although the tank portion is pretty aggravating.

Multiplayer is still amazing. I tried to get into Rush mode but couldn't so settled on playing Conquest. So many awesome tiny moments that play into the larger battles going on. @Dills saw ya playing a bit of MP too, did the brower search work for you last night? When I looked at them all I saw were empty ones so I had to go choose quick match.
I don't really use the search function. I mainly use quick match. I did try joining the server you were in a couple times, @NORML, both through the Xbox dashboard and in-game, but all 24 slots were full. Maybe next time. Not a big fan of the one map, Flood Zone I believe it's called. It seems a bit wonky ... I mean, if a street is flooded, how/why should you be able to swim under the sidewalks? Does not compute. And the ranking/leveling seemed a bit off as well. In the post-game summary, where you're seeing the awards, unlocks, ribbons, etc, my overall score took me into the next rank twice - from PFC1 to PFC2, and PFC2 to PFC3 - but the next round my promotion wouldn't show up until I hit the score within the match itself. I am liking the test map (forget the name) where you can learn how to fly vehicles, etc without the pressure and chaos of a battle around you. -EDIT- And, for the life of me, I couldn't join/find a server hosting the Domination mode where I wasn't the only person in it.
And you're getting it on the Xbone right? Means you won't be able to play with us in the lower caste.
Doesn't Battlefield4 also have the ability to buy current version and upgrade later? Ya. I couldn't join your team deathmatch round, was hoping to land on the opposite team so I could snag your dogtag. Looking forward to use that so I can actually learn to fly the helicopters. Super happy Dice added that.
Yeah, but to be honest... why? I can wait 3 weeks. I want to play the campaign, which I'm looking forward to the most, on a next gen system.
Tough to do when "the man" is keeping me down. Yeah, you can buy current gen then trade it in later for something like $9.99. I don't see myself getting a next gen anytime soon, so I'll make due. Gauntlet thrown. I've gotten pretty good at countering melee attacks, if I do say so myself. I still crash and whatnot, but it made me confident enough to pilot one through a map or two and not feel too bad when the inevitable chopper-meets-ground event happened.

Origin tag is: oopprraahh. Do we need to go through Origin to sync up with Battlelog system? If so I will post it on here either tonight or some time this weekend.
We usually all EA games have you signing into Origin, even on consoles, but it doesn't effect the game does it?
No, it doesn't. But, for someone like me who likes to tinker with Battlelog, it needs to be linked up. I could see it being a necessity if you're playing on the PC.

Yeah it's kinda funky. Just now I searched for Teso's Origin tag and got nothing When I just entered "Teso" though, I eventually saw his 360 tag and was able to click on that to send a battlelog friend request. Maybe it's cause I played a ton of Domination this weekend but the hotel and flooded city maps came up way too much.
