BARCELONA: Valdes, Belletti, Puyol, Van Bronckhorst, Oleguer, Xavi, Marquez, Deco, Ronaldinho, Giuly, Eto'o... Subs: Ruben Martinez, Fernando, Iniesta, Riera, Damia, Larsson, Arnau 18' 0-0
webo causing some troubles for barcelona. valdes has been forced to make some saves already today. 23' 0-0
My buddy Aguirre has Osasuna playing effective football. FR's tactical scheme for today better be on par.
marquez finds a streaking xavi who takes a nice powered shot, but it is wide left and never troubles the keeper. maybe he could have given it to eto'o.
gio tries squaring the ball to eto'o at the top of the 6th, but a sliding defender puts it out for a corner. the corner leads to nothing. ronnie is being marked very well.
ronnie looking poor loses possession with a bad pass, counter attack, oswaldo runs over puyol but there is no foul, then the cross gets headed out for a barcelona counter attack, ronnie gets the ball and makes a good, long run and gets taken down. free kick. punal got a yellow for it and the free kick leads to nothing.
osasuna not really pushing more than 3-4 players forward. great thru ball to giuly, tries to shoot, leads to a corner, which leads to another.
barcelona maybe should have just gotten a penalty. 38' or so a poor long ball to eto'o or ronnie reaches an osasuna defender who heads it right in eto'o's (lol) path, pass to ronnie, he feeds eto'o who gets the ball slid away, but then gets taken out by another sliding defender. 40' gol for eto'o. my stream farted so i couldnt see it, but ronnie gave a 'super' ball and eto'o finished one time ithink. barca are being more aggresive now 1-0
ronnie earns a penalty! it probably wasnt a penalty, but he did miss the call a few mins ago. the announcers agree that it wasn't a penalty, but it is payback. GOOOOOOOOOOOOL! ronnie's 1st of the season! hopefully that will give him a kick in the a$s. 2-0 barca!
anyone else agree that valdes is one of the best keepers in europe with the ball? he is so calm, makes good decisions, and just has good control with his chest, head, and feet.
the game has slowed down this half. barca is in control and not really being threatened by osasuna. it looks like barca may just play for the current scoreline and just smile if they bag another. since they are in control, get messi in!
ummm wow. eto'o gave the ball to ronnie on the ground (back to goal), ronnie saw a defender coming at him from his back, flicked the ball with the outside of his right foot OVER the defenders head, chipped another to defender with a pass to deco, deco was unselfish and gave it to eto'o who could not control it in the little space. it was the biggest 'OH' sound i have ever heard at a soccer game-lol
ronnie turning it on again. he seems to be finding himself in the 2nd half lately. made a nice run, chose the wrong person to pass to, eto'o couldnt really do much with it, crossed it to the keeper.
messi just came on Ronaldinho <---> Messi Navarro <---Belletti as for the 2nd sub, idk what the formation is now. i thought navarro was only the left side, if so... ...................gio navarro...oleguer...marquez...puyol
barca toying with osasuna, iniesta takes a low shot from right outside the 18 w/ his left and his the outside of the post.
3-0!!! eto'o!!! steals the ball deep, goes by 2 and plays a 1-2 when he sees the 3rd, gets it back and an easy finish for him.
all over. barca win it 3-0 current league standings: 1 Barcelona 22 2 Sevilla 17 3 Valencia 14 4 Espanyol 13 5 Atlético 13 6 Osasuna 13 7 Levante 13 8 Real Madrid 13 9 Zaragoza 13 10 Deportivo 12
astabo0t, thanks for the play by play, but what were your analysis of the players. it sounded like ronnie started slowly, but took over the game. also, what stream did you use? i have a macintosh so maybe thats why i have found little luck when it comes to streams.
Ole, great game and we won 3-0. Osasuna were very hard to play, especialy in first half. But after first goal their game fall apart. There was no penalty IMHO, but I wont judge the ref .Two great goals from Etoo, realy the guy was once again SUPERB. Ronnie again made some great tricks, great to watch them. Our bes 3 players were: Puyol, Ronnie and Etoo. I will tell more tomorrow, its 1.15 here and I have to go to sleep now. FORZA BLAUGRANA
valdes- i heard he had a bad outlet one play and almost got scored on due to it (it was in the 1st few mins and i didnt have the feed yet), but besides that he played as well as he could. made some good saves, but didnt really have to do much. belletti/gio- both were good going forward. belletti beating more players and gio getting father up in the attack. both were pretty good defensively. puyol/oleguer- except for the first 20-30 mins, they were not troubled. when the attack came they were solid and stopped it. deco- wasnt really involved in the game. xavi- ok performance. he was involved, but nothing special nor bad. marquez- some good passes, caused problems for the opposing offense. good game. giuly- non-factor kinda. ronnie- the ball wouldnt go to the left for the 1st 20-30mins so he wasnt a factor. he got the ball a little in that time and didnt do much. around the 30' he made a good run and got fouled, he played better and better after that. he was showing some nice stuff towards the end. ronnie may be on his way back. the best news is that he was on the LEFT the whole match, with eto'o in the center. eto'o- as i just mentioned, he played the entire game in the middle which was good to see. despite two goals i wouldnt say he had a great game. he got himself in good positions and finished well. iniesta and messi didnt really do anything. idk about navarro. it is fun that barca players can play average and get the result
Good PBP. Thanx for your effort. Here's a little more fluff for ya. Current Leading Goal Scorer in La Liga (Pichichi): Samuel Eto'o 7 Goals Current Leading Goal Keeper in La Liga (Zamora): Victor Valdes 0.38 Goals per game allowed. I still can't believe Victor has NOT been called up to the Spain NT. http://www.marca.com/pichichi_alfa_0405/zamora_primera.html
why would they call him up...they are having such success with the current line-up...why mess with a good thing
