Regular season news can be posted and discussed in the Season Thread To kick off this thread.. Here is a great video that has highlights of the CDR final as well as the celebrations. ********************************* And here is the full video of the indoor football match between Pep and Tito's teams! The audio starts working after the 18th minute. http://www.tv3.cat/videos/4105150/Partit-Barca-vs-Barca

He's a Barça closet case. Same with Özil. Grew up admiring Barça, and their true dream was to play for us. Still, nice wallpaper, Karim.
Mods can move this if it violates a football only protocol here, but for those who don't know Barcelona beat Real Madrid in the Liga Endesa playoff finals after getting down 2 games to 1 they rallied back to win game 4 in Madrid and the deciding game 5 in Barcelona today. Ran across this today in Youtube. Not sure if this has ever been posted before. Barcelona Confidential - 85 Minute documentary on the season that turned it all around when Laporta became president. Incredible behind the scenes director level footage.
What a painful season that was. Every other week the white napkins came out at the Camp Nou. I remember it like it was yesterday. When Davids came in everything turned around. Probably the best mid-season signing ever. Funny to see how everyone were are the same board and such good friends at that time. Laporta, Rosell, Ingla, Jaume etc. We should be thankful for what Laporta did with the club, but he somehow changed with the time and I'm not sure I would like to have him back. Great find celito!
This is required viewing for all culés. Fantastic documentary on the turnaround that shaped Barça today. I was living in Barcelona during the first half of that 2003/04 season. I remember the goleada losses to Racing and Málaga well, as well as the home defeat to LPB that ended a 20-year unbeaten streak. Dark days... and then the incredible comeback that began with the Davids signing and the rise of Dinho. I don't think that could ever happen again. An 18-point lead is insurmountable today where back then it just seemed unlikely.
I feel like I've seen this before, does this have the bit where the Boixos Nois are threatening Laporta in his car for kicking them out of the Camp Nou? (will have to watch the whole thing again when I get a chance)
FC Barcelona Launches New Football Project in Brazil Is that Belletti in the video? I didn't realize he was linked to the club in any way anymore, but Wikipedia tells me he hung up his boots last year after a short stint with Fluminense. Confession: Complexo do Alemão is the cluster of favelas where I once saw Adriano, fresh from his meltdown at Inter Milan, in the 'VIP' area of a massive dance party (baile funk) hanging out with some of his childhood buddies, who, let's just say, ended up on a different life path than him. It was 3AM on a Saturday night, and he had a game with Flamengo the next day.
Please tell us you got some pics. That's really cool to build those playing areas for the kids. And, just saying, but if Barcelona gets a foothold into Brazilian young talent... *low whistle* Also, I'm picturing a retired Dani Alves, hanging out with the young kids in the favelas, messing around on the court.
Well, I wasn't that dumb. But the Rio media made a huge deal at the time out of this leaked photo of Imperador Adriano. His agent came out and said it was a paintball rifle, and that the traffickers were publicizing it to extort the player. (sorry for going off topic)
Yes, that's our Paris 2006 hero Photo gallery from the club's website. http://fundacion.fcbarcelona.es/detalle/galeria-de-imagenes/futbolnet-en-rio I don't see Valdes in any of those images but he mentioned that he was on his way to Brazil last week. Probably just relaxing on holiday but Juliano tweeted a photo of himself and VV taken in São Paulo a few days ago.

It's not that hard. They have some good parties around there. My wife is from a neighborhood really close to the Complexo and it's not that dangerous anymore. Since the area is controlled by the police it became much safer. Just some years ago there were so much gunshooting that I got used to it after a while and did even care hearing it all day long. Valdés was there for sponsor reasons. He was only in São Paulo from what I've read.
