LOL its such a coincidence... the moment portugal goes back up.. the diving and time wasting begins again. funny how when we tied it at 3 they stopped.
are you F***ing kidding me. exact carbon copy of their last goal. Sottil fouled and ref waves it through.
did Nicolato bang Aleksander Ceferins wife or something? maybe 2 of them were merited reds (including Tonali's)... but 6 red cards in 4 games.. is crazy.
All in all, Portugal is probably the best team at the U21 level right now. Heads should be held high with the performance today, considering the terrible luck with the red card. It was harsh (like 4/6 of the reds received tournament), but I can see how the ref comes to that decision. If Frattesi’s header goes in, Italy ties the game at 2 and likely goes on to win with the moment carried over form the end of the first half. Super unfortunate at that moment in the game. The Portuguese goalkeeper didn’t even know how he saved it. On a separate note, there were a few episodes today with Raspadori on the ball where you could see he is at a different level than the rest. Some have compared him to Aguero and I can see the similarities in style of play. I’m really looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop.
Totally agree.. they are a talented team. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth the way it shook down. Not so much for the lost opportunity here.. but foreshadowing the reffing to come in a few weeks. I hope I’m wrong…
Carnesecchi è una delle più importanti next big things del calcio italiano, se ne parla troppo poco. pic.twitter.com/pcIFMaBkfW— Diego Fornero (@diegofornero) March 15, 2022
Italy begins its under 17 EC campaign tomorrow with the group opener against Germany. Host country Israel and Luxembourg comprise the rest of the group. The top 2 teams qualify for the quarterfinals. Given the impressive way the under 17 and under 19 squads qualified for this year's ECs, it is not inconceivable that Italy will win both competitions. Finishing in the top 5 for the under 19s would also qualify the squad for next year's under 20 WC in Indonesia.
Re. the EC U17: two wins (both 1:0 over Israel and Luxembourg) followed the narrow 3:2 defeat by Germany and set up tomorrow's quarterfinal against Holland (7pm CEST live on uefa.tv).
Very defensive heavy. Happy that Zanoli got there since he was a pleasant surprise this year in Naples. Also Pellegri who I thought did good for Torino when he played. Think he's going to be a decent big man #9
The Under 21's are set at wing back with Bellanova and Udogie. I'm glad Esposito is back in the Under 21's. I really think that guy has star written on him but needs to straighten out some of the attitude problems he had this year. He's still only 19 though.
Udogie finished the season with an injury so it’s believable. In any case, Italy are still covered with Parisi and Zanoli
Watched it this morning. I can never judge though how good they are when they play a team like Luxembourg.
Caught some moments. Luxembourg are garbage but it was nice to have Pellegri score. I still think he can become a decent #9
So do I, he is very talented as his goal showed, but he needs plenty of playing time next season and to stay fit of course. This was an excellent performance and a good warm up for the stiffer test in Sweden on Thursday.
