For all the people who wanted to go, and posted in the other threads they were going and then didn't have the money. Here it is.

    No Excuses.

Put $10 a week aside, that's $1,790 come February of 2013, which is the earliest the Hex would begin in 2013.

Putting only $5 aside will leave you with $895.

More than enough to make the trip possible, especially if the game ends up being in August or September.

Let's do this. Lets get 1K to Azteca to witness history!

4 years ago we scored for the first time in 20plus years there.
This time we took our first ever lead there.
One more hurdle to overcome. We're doing it in 2013.

Any chance we will play there before then?

there is always a chance, but realistically no. i would say the only chance would be if a 2011 or 2013 gold cup is hosted by countries other than (or in addition to) the US.

If it takes you 4 years to save the $500 that this trip costs, you've got bigger problems than going to this game.

If you are spending almost $1800 to go to Mexico City then you need yourself a new travel agent. You can get to Mexico's resort towns for a week's stay for 2 and still get cheaper than $1800. Count me in in 2013!!!

I spent less than $100 (three days) after hotel, ticket and airfare. I ate well too.

Hotel was only $130 (split with friend)
    Ticket $25

This trip is easy to do with $800 or less.

Definitely. If college students like myself can do it, people with real jobs really have no excuse.....

Hell, if anyone here happens to be filthy ********ing rich just buy as many tickets as you can and give them away to US fans. You can spare it. Let's make Azteca red like blood in 2013.

save money? that's not the American Way. Put it all on your credit card a month before your trip and pay it off over the following five years.

It means if a $500 vacation requires you to save money for four years, you should probably focus on making more money and having less expenses. If $500 is going to break you, watch the match from home. Possible exceptions to that statement are that you're a young kid or student.

    Where exactly did you stay?

And to be fair people with real paying jobs do indeed have an excuse. Things such as kids, not being able to get off, etc. That said i'm a college student!

EDIT: How far is Mexico City from Cancun?

Mexico City is nowhere near Cancun. i believe the flight is about 800 miles.
