I have a feeling this will be a great move for Jozy. I think it's the perfect league for his development. Good luck to him!

I am really excited for Jozy. Does anybody know when he would be likely to make his first appearance in an exhibition?

I was wondering the same thing. The Jamaica game was June 19th so he is about 4.5 weeks out and I believe the initial prognosis was 4-6 weeks.

Potentially a great move for Jozy. Hopefully just what the doctor ordered for his continued (and further) growth and development.

Time for Jozy to produce some goals.

Thank God...that we finally know the new thread title.

Well, it's been Villarreal, and now I have only one American to watch in Spain (for the time being).

from everything I've read online and heard on podcasts, AZ wants Jozy to focus on getting his hammy healthy as it pretty much sounds like they're banking on him and Boymans for success this year.

But now that this is finally official, it's a great move for Jozy. The Dutch league is very good at developing talent, and AZ is a good team so he doesn't have to worry about relegation battles.

I also like recent interviews with Jozy where he has said that he did learn a lot while at Villareal, but in hindsight he wasn't ready for a move there at 18, and now he just needed to find a place where he could play regularly and start scoring.

jozy has had to mature at an early age, and his interviews get better and better. Hopefully his club career can finally take off in Europe

a 34 game season. plus Europa league games.

if AZ take EL serious and jozy is a starter he could play 30+ games in one season.

not playing alot for 3 seasons should allow him to be able to play that much in a season. after all rossi played 56 games last season.

Am I the only who wishes Altidore would not have said "I left a lot of money on the table to come to AZ".....to me, it still shows a little bit too much the mentality of 'playing for the benjamins' vs. just focusing on improving, learning, growing as a player.

Its ok if he was thinking it, but I wish he would have had the discipline not to say it.

Its all good if he has a good season, but in candor, to me at least, it shows a bit of ? to me about his steel. Money will have nothing to do with him becoming better player IMO

actually he stated he had offers from other teams that offered much more cash but he sacrificed that for development. so it looks like he actually wanted development over money

to show people that he's serious about developing. If he'd just gone to the highest bidder but said "i came here to develop" people would be skeptical. Not sure how you think this shows he's all about the benjamins

look, its not a HUGE deal to me, and no I don't think he is all about the benjamins, but it is still on his mind obviously.

He made the right decision choosing AZ: a big plus

He talked about turning down higher offers: a small negative in my book

(also- did he really have firm, much higher dollar offers at the time of
AZ or is it a bit of front running on prospective offers?)

Not talking about money AT ALL would have really, really demonstrated something special...that is he laser-focused on playing the game

let's see how it goes....could be totally irrelevant in the end.

But I'm sticking it in my file to be possibly be revisited :D

This is a great move for Jozy. Definitely time for him to step up and be an every day starter and knock in 12+ goals this year. If you can't finish as a starting striker for a top 4ish dutch team you can't finish.

    Pros before hose.
(I'm not sure where the hose comes in...)

Good move for Jozy. If Bradley can score almost 20 goals, Jozy should be able to hit double digits. Are AZ in Europa League play too?
