Soccer365 has a set of awards/stats they give out that are a little less typical. DCU ended up finishing very well. --Sharpshooter (most goals scored with few shots): Gomez finished 2nd. --On the Frame (most accurate shooting): Moreno finished 4th. --Passing Fancy (best ratio of assists for a goal scorer): Dema finished 4th. --Shotgun award (worst ratio of shooting accuracy/shots on goal to goals scored): Ronnie O'Brien (and Dema was given credit by soccer365 for perhaps contributing to that). --Homebrew (reversing the scoring points so it's 2 points for an assist and 1 for a goal): Jaime would then lead the league in scoring. --Take my ball and go home (most goals scored with few or no assists): Alecko finished 5th. Really only the last award is not much of a credit. All the others (even if they're of dubious statistical value) are interested and DCU players showed well.
Let's make our own awards since the MLS gods left us out (except maybe for the most important award). Best supporting cast-- Josh Gros Best stunt double-- Nana Kuffour (really needs to stop going to parties and introducing himself as Freddy) Best caveman impression-- Bennie Olsen (again) The "I aint going back to that life!" award-- Troy Perkins (I need that in a size 12, my ass!) Lou Groza award-- Earnie Stewart
I'm not sure what you'd call it but Brian Carroll and Brian Namoff deserve some kind of an award. Maybe there award is a real paycheck so they can give up the bus pass, food stamps and spam-for-dinner way of life (not that there's anything wrong with these things) but I mean really.
