Basically I think it works this way, The AFL has sold some TV rights (But not for the whole world) to Fox Sports something based in England. Fox something then decides where it is going to be shown on its worldwide networks. It appears that FSW -Cable in US may want to pull out in 2004. I will stop there because there is a guy called Rob at www.afana.com who is the "guru" on this for the US. Go to the site - go to "Robs thoughts" - backtrack to the article Sep 28 -Reflections on the GF. babytiger2001, Do you think there is interest on this forum, for International Aussie Rules news items. That is my main interest these days.
I would hope so, virtually by the fact that this thread exists. Post as you see fit... might even see about getting a thread of offseason news started. As for FSW's involvement, I'd assume that they wouldn't relinquish the domestic rights when it comes to Aussie Rules footy, but then again, I don't know all the particulars on their current deal with the AFL's international leg of the current TV consortium of Nine, Ten and Foxtel. We'll see where this is headed... after all, the offseason here has just only begun.
