Potentially the last friendly before the season. Nice to see we could play 2 matches in a row 4 days before United :| Good team to test ourselves against and I am looking forward to seeing how Bale reacts to playing us. Anyone know if it will be shown on any US TV channels?
Michel Vorm Hugo Lloris Luke McGee Kieran Trippier Kyle Walker Danny Rose Ben Davies Eric Dier Federico Fazio Toby Alderweireld Kevin Wimmer Jan Vertonghen Nabil Bentaleb Ryan Mason Harry Winks Dele Alli Mousa Dembele Tom Carroll Josh Onomah Christian Eriksen Erik Lamela Nacer Chadli Harry Kane We take on Real Madrid in our opening match at the Allianz Arena tomorrow evening (5.15pm UK time) before facing either AC Milan or hosts Bayern Munich on Wednesday (KO, TBC). Looks like Yedlin was not taken, which either means he is about to go on loan or he is being asked to go on loan with nowhere found yet... Also nice to see we have 1 striker right now lovely...
Lloris is on the squad...that's interesting. Almost as good as our special partnership with Real which might be how we got into this tournament in the first place.
Can understand there are commercial concerns, but playing in this is just dumb, two games in two days right before the first match of the season.
my hope is Poch makes wholesale changes at 2nd half so not a single player plays more than 90 minutes total over the 2 days.
Interesting that Soldado is not included, though MP says he is in his plans for the season - I guess that is just BS trying to keep his transfer fee up.
Tottenham: Vorm, Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose, Alli, Dier; Dembele, Lamela, Eriksen, Kane Real Madrid: Casilla, Varane, Ramos, Kroos, James, Bale, Marcelo, Modric, Jese, Isco, Danilo.
Even in a preason friendly Marcelo dives at every opportunity, one of the biggest cheats in football.
Dele Alli nutmegging Modric was class. I wouldn't be surprised if it's him and Bentaleb partnering each other by the end of the season.
On a positive note, I thought Wimmer looked solid, as did Worm. Rose did pretty well going foward, though he and Dier lost Rodriguez in the box. Dele Alli looks like a bright prospect, but also seems very one-footed at this point. A pretty friendly friendly so far, with the ref seemingly under strict instructions that Spurs aren't allowed to make any tackles.
i was wondering the same thing. looked like he gave a minor high five but didn't see much more... anyone?
