Re: attendance? I thought it was more than that. There may not have been a ton of fans, but they were very passionate and made lots of noise. And other than Mexico, they probably wouldn't have got a higher attendance anywhere in CONCACAF.
Re: attendance? Sad really, they only pulled in 10,000 for a double header? The Mutiny never had a chance. These games need to be played in larger city's like Chicago, New York, and Los Angles. You would atleast double the head count easy.
Re: attendance? Actually, I think most of the central American Nations would have sold out their stadiums. The only question is if their stadiums capacity is over 10,000
Re: attendance? 10,000 in Seattle with the US, Canada and Costa Rica? Pathetic. Oh wait, this was hosted by CONCACAF.
Re: attendance? i read in univisions website that there was around 30,000 at qwest. home depot should sell out today right? ill be there
What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? What is the deal with the U.S. getting 15,831 at their game. That is really bad. Is the Gold Cup marketing right? Is Seattle really that bad of a homer stadium for the U.S.? Does nobody really care about this tournament? What city will be able to pull off a good attendance?
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? expect 40k+ at giants stadium for the anticipated us-mexico semifinal or final (weather permitting, of course)
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? I thought it was a decent crowd. Miami only got 10,000 for Wednesday's games.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? Not for mid-week Gold Cup games it isn't. In 2003, I went to two sets of mid-week games in Foxboro, including a triple header with a Revs Game. I believe that the Gold-Cup-only night attendance was below 10,000. The other night was better, but that's just a lot of people only went for one game or a bit more.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? Interesting. It would have been interesting to see what Salt Lake City or Houston would have gotten from the U.S. Team. Seems like summer time they could attract more for the U.S. men.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? On a weekend night they could attract more for every team playing that day, but not everyone is willing to travel like that during the week. There was a triple header at Gillette in '03 that drew something like 35,000, but that was on a Saturday.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? Hope the attendance continues to grow throughout the competition.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? What is sad is if you exclude the 5,000 Mexicans that were there to wear their Chivas jerseys, & look at the Banamex & Telmex banners & the halftime spanish language commercials in the stadium monitor.....
that was the loudest any stadium for any event can ever get. mexican fans are loud! and it also got good when guatemala scored the 3rd goal. hey by the way i got video from tonights match any chance sumone can post it up for me? thx
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? Expect a good crowd for the Quarter Finals in Houston this Sunday - that is if Mexico makes it into one of those games. Reliant stadium sold out (57+K) for a US/Tri friendly last year with about a 3 to 1 Mexico-US fan base.
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? I went to that game and i would say it was 2 to 1. That was an electrifying atmosphere. Too bad it was 0-0. How is it lining up on who will be in Houston for the quarters?
Re: What happened with the attendance US-Cuba? Two out of three of Jamaica, South Africa, and Mexico; and two out of six out of Honduras, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Columbia, Canada, and Cuba will play in Houston. The United States and Costa Rica (because B1 and B2 play in Foxboro) and Guatemala (because they can't be C1 or C2) can't possibly play in Houston. We'll know more after today's games.
