I would like to say that the atmosphere at Soldier's Field this friday is going to rock. I predict that 25,000 fans will be in attendance. I think that Chicago next year, understanding that LA is first. The atmosphere for this game will be similar to the one we see at the Chicago-Marlin's games. Now, that Cubs will be travelling to Miami, this mean that it's not going to affect this game. What do u think?

I think you're dreaming or just don't have a lot of respect for baseball. Best of luck though, you guys have great fans.

if there will be only 25k then we are really in trouble, its opening game at the stadium for the soccer fans and we know with each game there will be less untill evens out, besides 25 k doesn't realy rock in a huge 70 k stadium, if anything less then 35 k i will be disappointed

I don't know where this Soldier's Field place is but at Soldier Field on Friday there are already 26k tickets sold.

Isn't this a double header with Mexico playing some South American team? Surely 33-35K will be in attendance for this match.

I believe the Mexico game is next week. The Fire game on Friday is a stand-alone one, as it should be.

I'm not a baseball fan, but I'm from Chicago and I used to live in Wrigleyville, and regardless whether you're a baseball fan or not, if you caught any of the recent games at Wrigley you'd know the atmosphere at those games was something beyond the norm. People are out of their gourds that the Cubs have a shot at the world series for the first time in damn close to a hundred years. I bet it will be hard for anyone in Chicago who's anything less than a devoted soccer fan to notice anything going on in sports right now besides the Cubs.

In the beginning of the season I predicted 40,000 for the first game back at NSF, and everybody thought I was crazy. So with over 26K sold as of Wednesday 40,000 does not look that crazy anymore.

After doing another search, I'm changing my initial figure of 25K to 30,000.

25k or less does not = "really in trouble"

    Disheartening, yes. Frustrating, yes.

I think Soldier Field will play host to at least 30k.

Soilder Field is beautiful. The Barn Burners and the Ultras sound great.Section 8 looks great with all those red jerseys and flags. I think that the Fire have the best support in the league. Unfortunatly the field looks like crap. The grass looks dead and the football markings make it look cluttered. Lets hope that you get your own stadium. Then you can play on a nice green pitch.

The crowd at SF was fantastic. A real vision for MLS teams staying in NFL stadia for the forseeable future. Nice job, Chicago fans.

Watching via the shootout, there were many audible roars during the action as well as the singing and drumming and stuff. Lower bowl looked pretty packed.

Also, for most of next summer, you won't have to deal with the football lines.
