From Dan Lauletta's League Lowdown for Aug. 24, in the "Free Kicks" section near the bottom (link here): That's quite a tease...
I noticed that, too. So they're not apparently going to play in the REMAX stadium like they said earlier? And what's the new stadium? If it's going to "turn the league on its ear", I would expect it to be big, but I can't see them getting Turner Field or the Georgia Dome.... eh, who knows?
And, frankly, I'd hope they'd avoid playing in some cavernous place they'll never fill but have to pay a ton to rent. Wasn't there some vauge news about Kennesaw St. building a facility and the possibility that the Beat might share it? Perhaps "turn the league on its ear" is more about having/building a stadium of their own. Except, of course, STL already has their own place so that isn't exactly a new thing.
A university stadium, eh? How big will it be? And are we expecting a gridiron like at Harvard? =-P -edit- Wait, "new" as in currently being planned/constructed or "new" as in the 2002 Soccer Complex there? b/c that place looks tiny. -edit2- Oh, this place? 8.3k sounds really great!
Did they ever actually send out a press release about Remax Stadium? I never heard anything officially about it, but I did see something on Wikipedia.
