I would like to ask a question to Argentinian fans (or anyone else who might know for that matter).I 've been told a story, which I find hard to believe.According to the story, there was a team in Argentina battling to avoid relegation ( I don't know which team or when). So,the team fans dug 11 graves behind a goal at the team's home ground. . . as a reminder to the team's players!Eventually the team managed to stay up. Now,I know that things are a bit rough in South America, but this story beggars belief. If anyone knows if this story is true or not, please drop me a line Gracias! p.s. If it 's actually true,a link (in english or spanish) would be highly appreciated
CL10-F12 ** **Atl Tucuman and Racing have 1 game less Terrible weekend for riBer, who saw Gimnasia LP, Central, Tigre, Huracan and Godoy Cruz all add points to their tally and further push away from the ex-millionaires for next year's relegation. Racing could still add points as well as their game with Atl Tucuman was suspended and will be played at the end of April. . .
wow river is not that far from direct descenso , if Chaca has a good run they could put River in a bad situation for next season. Could you guy's imagine them in 2nda!?
Remember that Atl Tucuman and Chaca should go down this year ... if they get to save, they would need a bunch of won games this semester, which would, by default, put their averages way above riBer for next season. So next season, the 2 newly promoted teams would start beneath riBer. What if, lets say Quilmes, gets promoted and invests $$ in a team that can make 22-25 points per tournie (they have resources). riBer would indeed be in relegation zone, not promotion zone, early in the tournament. That is the importance of the last 7 rounds of this Clausura. Yet, the signings at riBer for this semester were a disaster. And the Presi keeps hiding away ... perhaps because he knows he fuct. Where is the love for your club if you know you don't have the $$ to change the equation ... and that is what the club needed the most? And pushes away those who can help with $$, so that no one puts their nose near the club? What's up with the "falopa players" he criticized so much, yet that is what he ends up buying? Careful, el kaiser could be the one that ends up giving the final free fall push ... It is amazing how Gallego turned things around at Independiente, who was also among the BIG clubs with problems. With the Sudamericana at hand and the Liberadores highly probable if they keep their first place. And ... Huracan won yesterday ... .
Got to see how many teams get promoted first, the least being 2 the max being 4, it's possible that 4 teams get promoted and all of them do pretty bad, that would be wondeful for River if they can't recover next season.
you know whats crazy???? the tabla de posiciones.... right now you can see most of the big clubs near the bottom 19th Rosario Central 18th San Lorenzo 17th Boca Jrs 16th River Plate 15th Racing this is nuts! most of the minnows at the top!!! 2nd Godoy Cruz 3rd Banfield 4th Artgentinos Jr 6th Tigre With the exception of Idependiente 1st / Estudiantes 5th, the top would never have looked like that 5 years ago.. In fact that would be a joke back then.. the bottom w/ the exception of Atl. Tucu 20th , no one would have believed this in a hundred years!!!!!
Devil, is it safe to say the reason behind this is poor management from the clubs directors?? We all know the story of River and Aguilar's corupt dealings. Racing is out of debt right, or out of administration I believe?? Does San Decenso have a lot of debt??
Well , San Descenso has at least gotten rid of el "Cholo", they actually have a squad that should be in the top 3 and be qualified for a Libertadores ... the Cuervos have sputtered all season long with cholo in the drivers seat. whats more is that they have some proven players on their squad and are still managing to do poor ex; 1. Gustavo Campagnolo 2. Pablo Migliore 3. Cristian "Kily" González 4. Jonathan Bottinelli 5. Juan Carlos Menseguez 6. Diego Rivero 7. Bernardo Romeo 8. Leandro "pipi" Romagnoli 9. Aureliano "Chaco"Torres 10. Nelson Benítez San Lorenzo is anteultimo in the tabla and with these players its a damn shame!!!
Yes, San Lorenzo has financial problems, as the squads were formed with money from investors but the club still had to pay the "european" wages. And now that Tinelli got pist of the fans pointing at him of doing "biz' with the club for own profit, the economic power to re-build or hold to some players will be very difficult. And Gimnasia LP won yesterday ... riBer lost ... and Racing plays tonite. .
I don't think that San Lorenzo's financial problems has anything to do with this season's results . Actually the results may lead to deeper financial problems.. .
San Lorenzo ********ed up when they started to mess with investor groups, in top of that they only managed to win a single domestic title. But it was evident since day one that if they didn't win more tournaments or a cup they were going to be on a big mess, or at least that it'd be less evident. Interesting to see the table of the Clausura now, 5 years ago there were people like "el que la tiene adentro" Passman complaining about how River and Boca could defeat everybody with their substitutes and how argentine football was an embrassment because it was becoming the equivalent of Scotland's Premier League.
