Darlo await work permit after Asprilla coup

I know he is older, but why not try to bring him to MLS if Darlington can't get him. He would add some flair and scoring ability to the league, and isn't completely over the hill...Opinions??

There was a rumor about DC being interested, but then they ended up bringing in Zambrano (well actually he has yet to arrive).

No he's not (at Darlington, yet). They've apparently agreed terms, but now he has to get a work permit. As he has not met the requirements, it could go either way.

If he played somewhere in the midfield, then maybe, but for a striker he's too old.

Some Middle Eastern club made a better offer and he bolted.

    some highlights:
Reynolds said: "I feel as if I must apologise for the bad behaviour of Tino Asprilla and make it quite clear that he did a runner at 5am this morning from Newcastle Airport to London, without even having the decency to ring the manager or myself or the club.

"How am I supposed to control situations like this?

A shame he's turned out to be such a loser -- he was quite a joy to watch at Newcastle.

He was only a joy to watch when Newcastle played their European opponents... he was a bit of a dud for league play.
