As far as baseball goes, soccer is one its main predators. So many excellent baseball players on my son's team who were forced to make that very hard decision (baseball vs soccer). Very sad to have to make that decision. Soccer seems to require much more of a year-round commitment, akin to sports like gymnastics. It really makes it difficult to participate in much of anything else. My son is hoping to play DI soccer and so has had to put baseball on the back burner. He has been told he can play baseball at the collegiate level also, and he loves it, so the decision is excrutiating.
