Well, another season zipped by, and suddenly here we are again, hosting Everton on the final day. The newly safe Everton after a rousing comeback win plus pitch invasion, just minutes ago. Maybe they’ll all binge-drink for 2 days and be horribly prepared for Sunday. Allowing a truly bruised and battered Arsenal squad to go out on a slight upbeat.

Now if the gods of lasagna could only find a way to descend upon Spuds’ team hotel in Norwich UK we could have a truly uplifting Sunday. Odds are very bleak for us to steal back 4th place from them, but you remember what Yogi Berra said.

I’d love to see us play with urgency & swagger, but frankly I’d be pretty happy with a boring "1-0 to The Arsenal", which IIRC is what it was when I attended this fixture (my first to the Grove) back in 2008.

p.s. Strangely this is the first leg of a transatlantic tie of sorts, since Everton was just recently appointed to be our pre-season opponent in Baltimore on July 16. But should be 2 very different setups between now and then I suspect.

Since Everton ensured they didn’t drop today, I have less stress, but still relatively low confidence things will go our way on Sunday.

The Lasagna will likely need to stay in the freezer one more year, but if I get to break it out, it will easily be the most savored pasta I’ve had in my entire life.

Yeah, hopefully Everton arrive hungover while Arsenal has sobered up since Monday. At the very least, the Gunners would do well to give their fans a high note on which to end the season.

    Big test of character, this.

I hold very little hope that Spuds will choke to Norwich, but there are always lower levels for Spursiness to be discovered.

For me, the loss at Everton is arguably our worst this season. A win is the only acceptable result under all the known circumstances right now.

    What's the more devastating result?

Norwich beat sp*rs, Arsenal just need a goal to win and go top 4 but they can't get it and finish 0-0?

Arsenal beat Everton and Norwich lead 1-0 but sp*rs get dodgy extra time penalty that Kane converts to get the point and finish 4th on GD?

Yeah, I’ve been thinking of that match a bit in the last day or so.

I liked Yossi in general and for his brief time as a Gunner. I also liked Trevor Francis who it sounds like is the co-comm guy in that clip.

We’ll seriously need to bribe Pukki to have a similar impact Sunday!

    Hmm, hmm, hmm.

Seriously on a quick google search the consensus seems to be that Kane is "unwell" but there is nothing more widespread than that.

But 2 days can be long enough to make a recovery from illness. So don't get your hopes up too high. Don't rule him out of the trip to Norwich. But even if he does make it, perhaps we can take a tiny bit of hope that he's not likely to be 100%.

    We. Shall. See.

Hands down the first. If Arsenal are somehow handed once more a gift from the soccer gods, only to drop that due to their own incompetence, that would be devastating. That would be more about Arsenal's failure than any other side's achievements.

No comments on who’s healthy and who’s not. Interestingly the photos from the last training day include Partey, White and Gabriel, but not Tomiyasu.

Yeah I was surprised to see all 3 of those guys training. Maybe Arteta is going to gamble again playing our best guys even if they’re not 100%?

    Lets win.

They had their cup final against Palace.

Lets win 5-0, and hope for something hilarious to happen for Norwich.

Either way, a big win to end this weird, up and down season and go into the preseason with something to build off.

Just win, baby. Regardless of the final standings, end the season with a sense of hope and that the team can rebound.

As suspected, from a distance the new kit looks good* Quite traditional.

    * i.e. you can't see the silly lightning bolts from a distance.
