Tues 29 January 2019 Ashburton Grove USA “TV”: NBC Gold 2:45pm ET Enjoy the most minimal MD thread opening I’m likely to ever do. And enjoy the match, the few of us who can actually watch it.
Always have liked & respected Neil Warnock. Was reminded of one reason why, when I heard a clip of his presser on BBC Football Daily podcast, today. He talked about the horrible Sala incident and how it's affected their team, but especially him. He's sought counseling, asked his assistants to run preparations for this weekend, etc. You can knit-pick certain things about him, but overall he's a real human being. And his direct honesty is one of his supreme strengths. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06zc6lc Here's another video of this presser, albeit highly edited:
Leno AMN Mustafi Nacho Kola Torreira Xhaka Guendouzi Auba Laca Iwobi At home, should do well and get that W. I am calling 3-1.
Ever so slightly off. Leno Lichtsteiner Mustafi Monreal Kolasinac Torreira Guendouzi Elneny????????? MESUT FREAKING OZIL Auba Laca
Woohoo, our captain returns! p.s. And Elnenny in there... you never know he might be toying with 3 at back.
You sure it's not a back 3 of Mustafi, Elneny, Monreal? Edit: that's how it looked at the start, but now I see him more at the base of the diamond. So maybe you're right.
Nice to hear old boy Alan Smith doing color commentary today. Typically he's pretty insightful with a nice economy of style.
He's very clearly not that kind of player. And frankly that's a breath of fresh air amongst the rampant cheating in the game. Meanwhile 30' in and we've had a few sniffs, but we are far from taking this game by the scruff. Plus we could've easily had a PK called against us. COME ON!!!
A cold Tuesday night in N5, with rain & snow pissing down, the home team struggling to stay in the top 6, playing against a small market relegation club from another country, leads to........... many empty seats.
Ozil clearly not at his best. But you see glimpses of his beautiful movement & vision. Such a shame it hasn't worked out for him & us at Arsenal.
Yeah! Some truly scary moments in our own half, against... Cardiff City! I haven't been watching too closely but I literally have not seen Auba have a touch, or his name called. Emery needs to seriously change something at HT.
Laca probably should've been awarded a PK there just before HT. He actually DID go down just inside the box, after seemingly getting his heel stomped on. Guendouzi picks up a stupid yellow for arguing with Mike Dean as they walk off.
Iwobi in for Elnenny. So that hybrid thing we were doing with him in 1T is over (his average position was as our middle CB, but he was found roaming into their area sometimes).
And now our last CB goes down in a heap. If they don't friggin bring in someone on loan they are neglegent!
At last! Kola is fouled in the box. Now it's Auba's chance to finally do something of significance in this game... 1-0! Phew
Guendouzi & Ozil come together on the ball. Guen says "Wait who are you?" Ozil says "What?" They then fumble around for a bit, the ball pops loose and turnover ensues.
