We're gonna play a reserve side for this fixture, right?

I wouldn't be surprised to see mostly reserves for this game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Henry and Pires on the bench though, just in case. I seem to remember Wenger saying he's going to treat the FA Cup more like the League Cup this year and not play the established stars wherever possible.

I can't remember lasts seasons early rounds. I suspect that it will be first string backline with a few second string attackers, with Henry and others waiting on the bench. But really it should be the reserves, unless we are out of the CL.

this is a competition we actually want to win
reserves cant play...what if they are getting thumped...introducing 3 first teamers wont help the cause by the time they get substituted

Stoke are a good side. If we play our reserves we will be underestimating them and lose. I think Wenger knows this and so he will play his full strength first team. Why do Chelski and Man U have so much easier teams than us. BLOODY TYPICAL we can never have it the easy way can we.

glad to see Yeading not moving their game to Newcastle...I really like seeing the big clubs travel to a non-league side (like Chelsea scraping by at Scarborough last season in the FA Cup.)

For many people the FA Cup is very important. Its got loads of history and means a lot to the fan, therefore personally I would be very annoyed if we played just reserves. It should be a mixture.

I agree on the mixture. The last time we won the Double I remember playing a 2nd division team with Adams coming back into the team but also with Juan playing left-back. Made for a hell of a game, plus a Ray Parlour cracker.

IIRC, we played all premier league teams in last year's FA Cup. I think it was Leeds, Portsmouth, Chelsea, Man U in that order. We mainly had first teamers, although Campbell, Toure, Lauren, Henry, Reyes, and Pires were rested or came off the bench at one stage or the other.

Yup, would have been Gillingham. Adams and Parlour both scored too, the Romford Pele a cracker as you say off the outside of his right foot in off the underside of the bar. Also noteworthy for the chance to raise the chant "There's only one Juan". I think it was 5-2 in the end.

You're right.....just switch Chelsea and Portsmouth and add a touch of Boro as we actually played Leeds, Boro, Chelsea, Pompey, United....in that order.

Actually, I think we need as much luck as we can get... the Beckham to Exeter rumours have been unsettling the boys and we never play well against such intimidating sides...

Why are people worried about our reserves playing this match? They're already playing vs. Rosenborg and Chelsea so why not line them up for this as well?

    Anyway!!!!

The game has been moved due to the scum playing at home as well. The K.O. time is 2pm on the Sunday. But this is NOT being televised. (at least not live in the UK)

Could you please be more specific when you refer to the scum. There is so much its hard to know which variety you mean. I assume you mean ManU though. Or was it Tottenham? Chelsea? :)

The scum refers to Tottenham. Since they too are home and are only up the road, the police wouldn't be able to handle both games, thereby necessitating the need to move one of the matches. Ours in this case.
