I hate to take valuable time away from my troll baiting activities, but there is the matter of a match tomorrow, a match that DB10 will not be participating in: http://www.sportinglife.com/footbal...NAME=soccer/03/09/25/SOCCER_Arsenal_Team.html
more about DB10's absence from the squad. http://www.arsenal.com/sportsappcon...e&type=com.sportapps.news.NewsItem&id=4097112
yahoo.. finally aliadere will get a chance in the first team this season... i look for some real energy from the duo of henry/aliadere~~~
What on earth makes you think that Aliadiere will play? I think he should, but if I were a betting man, I'd have my money on Wiltord. If Aliadiere gets ten minutes at the end I'll be surprised. Before the inevitable suspensions kick in we need to get some points. Big performances from those who will have an enforced rest soon are needed starting tomorrow.
michaec, it also said on the official site that aliadiere might get a chance to play next game. and espcially now that we are entering into a crucial part of the season, we need him to get experience
It's just that every year Wenger says that the young players at the club are ready and every year we don't see them. Forgive me if I'm skeptical.
i hope to see all you chicago gooners at gingers today at 2 oclock.im not sure how many went last sunday, but it was a great time! thought there was gonna be a riot at gingers! see you all at 2! gary
I with the phish on the Jeremie/Sylvain issue. It would be great to see him get some time in. Come on you Gunners!
gary have a pint for me. i'm stuck at work i'd like to see Aliadere on the pitch today. Give the youngster a run and see what he can do.
Of the non-ManU players who can really wind an opposing player up, I'd put Lee Bowyer at the top of the list. Here's hoping my worries are unfounded...
Starters Interesting to see Robert Pires on the bench again: ARSENAL Jens Lehmann Lauren Kolo Toure Martin Keown Ashley Cole Ray Parlour Patrick Vieira Gilberto Fredrik Ljungberg Sylvain Wiltord Thierry Henry SUBS Graham Stack Pascal Cygan Edu Robert Pires Jeremie Aliadiere NEWCASTLE UNITED Shay Given Andy O'Brien Jermaine Jenas Kieron Dyer Alan Shearer Craig Bellamy Aaron Hughes Titus Bramble Lee Bowyer Laurent Robert Olivier Bernard SUBS Tony Caig Andrew Griffin Gary Speed Darren Ambrose Shola Ameobi
Random thoughts -Sir Bobby and the Oakland Raiders: Both very celebrated only a year ago, now whispers that both are too old... -Thanks, Sir Bob, for finally starting Jermaine Jenas. I paid 7.5 million for the guy in the fantasy league, and he's produced exactly Jack Squat. Wasn't he supposed to be a future England captain? Or maybe he's yet another over-hyped young England player (see Bramble, Titus)? -Lunch is a Pepsi, egg salad sandwich, and salt and vinegar chips. Mmmm....
Martin Tyler is the man! He just told the story about the ManUre player who expressed surprise at how much the Gunners celebrated the road draw at Sold Trafford...then Tyler said "but he must have forgotten Manchester United's own jubilation at holding Arsenal here in April when their manager himself came on to the pitch to savor the moment." Then that wet blanket Andy Gray made some assinine comment about September and April being slightly different, blah blah blah. Really? I was sure the points awarded are the same no matter when a game is played.
Kickoff -Arsenal moving from left to right wearing Red, the Toon wearing the black and white stripes. -Mike "PK to ManUre" Riley is the ref.
2nd minute Ashley Cole makes a dangerous run into the box, Shay Given gets a hand on a rolling cross and knocks it away.
3rd minute Newcastle wins a free kick just outside the box to Lehmann's left, it's floated in and headed out for a corner, Robert's low cross is knocked away easily.
8th minute Good chance for Arsenal, as Wiltord crosses for Henry, who gets a little touch on it and nearly puts it in. Bowyer with a hard foul, but he's only cautioned by the ref. Arsenal dominating possession since the corner.
10th minute Arsenal corner thanks to another Ashley Cole run. Henry's cross is headed out by Shearer. Just noticed it's raining in north London - hard and steady.
14th minute Henry with the best Arsenal shot so far, as he cracks one wheeling in from the left. Given with a nice reaction save. A few seconds later, Wiltord beats Bernard down the right-hand side, but his cross is knocked away out of danger.
Goal - 18th minute Arsenal 1, Newcastle 0. Henry takes advantage of a horrible Bramble clearance and knocks it into a wide open net. Immediately before the goal, another Bramble mistake led to chances for Parlour, Wiltord, and Ljungberg.
AOL Room I've started an AOL Chat room called: Arsenal Just goto the chat room ARSENAL and we can do some play by play.
