Once he gets them platelet counts up LOOK OUT Serie A.

Good points on his injuries, Im old and sentimental what can I say.

As far as Ceballos what are you guys thoughts on him? I think maybe he just has to get used to the league no?

For him personally, yes, but for Arsenal? We would have hardly noticed him this season.

No doubt Juve gets him healthy, with Dr. Agricola, anything is possible.

Welcome back. If you like, Jitty and I have talked about this very thing at length regarding blitzk--on second thought don't check the archives, it's a silly place.

Re: Ceballos, he had one gokd match for us before his injury and then was pretty not good after. But many, many other players looked terrible under Emery and much better now under Arteta so he's definitely worth another shot IMO. Guendouzi has still not been good in the limited Arteta sample set so Ceballos has a pretty straightforward path into the CM rotation

I like ceballos, but he is so one-footed it’s absurd to be honest. I think any player that does the minimum amount of preparation will know how to handle him. Maybe Arteta will find a way to work him in, but I’m not that optimistic. Definitely a decent extra body in midfield though.

This. Everyone needs another look. Some will make the grade, a few won't.

I've watched Ceballos on and off the last few years. He's a great talent - he was head and shoulders best player for that u23 Spain team. Of course that's another level and he remains unproven at this level.

Ceballos was played too far forward

I think he can play that xhaka role

IMO ceballos is potentially better than any of our CMs. Obviously still needs development

I thought he was great at u-23 levels but as @InTheSun said obviously different which is why I thought an adjustment was needed plus he didnt play much first team at Madrid

He's obviously very talented but I was sceptical about this loan from the start because they so seldom work out.

We had so many issues under Emery, and it would hardly be surprising if the player lost belief after a promising beginning.

And from Arsenal's perspective, there isn't much incentive to develop Ceballos now.

Why did RM loan Ceballos to an Emery led AFC?

We won’t see Guendouzi for a while, imo

Because we paid them a lot in a loan fee. It was over £10 million.

I’ve seen a lot of reporting that claims that isn’t true, and I tend to agree with that. It’s just too unbelievable.

If it is true...man. Sanllehi can get bent.

Also, I do think it’s a fair point that @thebigman makes about Ceballos and his skill set being better suited to a deeper role. This is one of the things that consistently drove me insane about Emery. A manager like Pep takes forward players and moves them backwards to have greater influence on the play. Emery takes midfielders and moves them forward to provide ‘solidity’.

Having said that, Spain tried to hide Ceballos on the left wing so his lack of positional discipline wouldn’t hurt them when he started for the senior team a few months back. And let’s also remember the horrible giveaways in our own third.

If he’s going to be a center midfielder, he’s got a ton of development to do, and we can’t afford to waste time developing him.
