Nicolas Otamendi joins Manchester City. Demichelis probably back to River Plate in January.

I'm sorry, but why isn't Federico Fernandez in the Argentinan side?

When he first joined us he was pretty good, now he's excellent. He's improving so much as a player playing alongside a real leader in Lukasz Fabianski and from a good defensive coach of a manager in Garry Monk in what is a good Swansea side.

I find it so strange that he was in the Argentina squad as a regular when he joined us, but now isn't making the squad when he's been at his very best especially when he's missing out to unproven Argentinian league players.

Fernandez had a poor World Cup and lost the starting spot during the tournament. Also, I wouldn't call players from the Argentina league unproven, Pezzella and Funes Mori just won the Copa Libertadores with River Plate for example.

Pezzella left river before we won the copa libertadores. he did however win the copa sudamericana, scoring a goal in the final

He was there up until the semifinals, so I can count him as being part of the campaign.

In comparison to Fernandez, yes they are unproven. Fernandez has won the Copa Libertadores, but has gone on to be succesful not only in Serie A but in the Premier League as well. Neither of the two Argentinian League lads have been put up against quality week in week out like Fernandez has, the other day a good performance against Wayne Rooney, the opening day of the season a good performance against Diego Costa.

As for him being dropped because of the World Cup, he played and scored in the 4-2 friendly win over Germany after the World Cup.

Fernandez was only 19 years old when Estudiantes won the Libertadores and was a reserve behind Re and Desabato.
The match after the WC featured almost the entire squad from the World Cup, Martino later began his process and quickly dropped Fernandez, who lost his starting spot during the tournament itself.

Pezzella and Funes Mori are younger than Fernandez, at some point a manager has to give the chance to a younger, relatively less proven player because he shows the potential to be better.

Funes Mori is quite poor. He isn't going to make it in England. Bad move for him but hey, I wish him well. As for Fede, the guy can become a cult hero Swansea, but those that have been watching him for a long time understand the guy is prone to errors. Wait and see.

Pereyra out for the season with a knee ligament injury. Should be fit by April but the time for registering players is now. Zarate (Mauro) joined us from Fiorentina. Pretty decent start for him yesterday.

It appears that Julian Alvarez has some fitness issues he is working thru. Julian was a sub-in for the ManCity-Sevilla UEFA Cup game. Pep stated that "“Julián [Álvarez] had a problem, discomfort, otherwise he would’ve played [vs Sevilla]. He’s becoming so important and only managed to play in Greece for 15/20 minutes. Incredible penalty-taker. In terms of personality, that’s why he played…”

With KDB out for at least a few months, the attacking options are going to be fluid for ManCity. They have a new young kid (Palmer) who is scoring, and is taking mins from Julian. Hopefully he will be feature for a full 90 mins this weekend.
