Masche only retired few years ago, so when did he actually studied coaching?

AFA decisions are mostly bad especially with the Superliga Argentina, the only thing that keeps him in charge is the National Team, Tapia was beyond lucky with Scaloni.

We won countless youth titles during those 28 years senior trophy drought, Multiple u20 & u23 titles in 90s & 2000s, now we won senior titles without having good performance at youth level.

FGG picked up some bad habits from Armani, smh.

Not exactly a way to start your tournament. Reminder, top 3 of the 5 go into the following round and then top 4 qualify. It’s not going get easier with Brasil on Monday. We should not be losing to Paraguay. If we do not qualify, Masche needs to turn in his resignation.

A lot of players begin the coursework while they are still playing. But you know it is a bit a farce. Freakin Tevez had his certificates out of the blue.

He was undercut. I think he will be fine but you can’t get under a player like that when they go up. Dirty as hell.

Winning it not the point, the point is creating a good formula and having a good system from lower u15 to senior where coaches with experience (at levels) can drive the game. AFA always gives good players garbage tier coaches. The dart selection never works. U20 should be considered a premiere tournament for AFA, but they give the coaching decisions to a noob.

Im sure he was fine at his first post match press conference at least, he has experience at explaining defeats.

How do you know Masch won't create a good group, calling for him to be sacked after every defeat doesn't strike me as particularly helpful, perhaps chill out and get some perspective.

It's too late to sack him, we go with him now. Preferably groups or teams should already be prepared by day one of a qualification tournament. We'll know in less than 2 weeks if he sacks himself. :whistling:

If we're out early , then he'd be sacked. It would be seen as a disaster no matter how you twist the story.

I'm sure he picked up coaching badges while at Liverpool and Barcelona. He was wanted by the latter to coach at La Masia. Hope he doesn't teach accounting though.

I'd prefer Aimar took the u20 as a continuity to the senior side. We'll see if Mascherano has the touch. With this group apart from at centre back where Valentin Gomez is the standout it's a tremendous group.

Qualification is a must and winning it should be the priority despite the absenteees.

It's important for long term success and getting players for the future acclimatized to tournament pressure. Yes only 20-30% of the age groups get to be seleccion regulars but nonetheless it's an important moment in the careers for many and they are representing the nation.

A penalty and a huge blunder from Gerth. Awful start. Let's hope they pick themselves up.

I'd prefer someone who has a proven track record with young players. Zubeldia, Beccacecce and in the past Pochettino. Placente should be around this group as well.
