I notice Messi has crazy acceleration in this game. It looks like he's on his 2011 speed. He's an alien afterall.

Agreed, first 20 minutes looked great and then we went through the motion rather than being creative and clinical.

Di Maria shouldnt play against bunkering teams. He should play in second half or against more attacking sides which defence will leave huge gap.

Messi now has 751 career goals, along with 315 assists.

He also has the highest number of goals in WC Qualifiers ever with 26.

Obviously breaking Pele’s record and is now at 79 goals for us.

Pele played against coconut merchants. If he was around today, he’d lucky to be playing for Levski Sofia. Messi is levels above what Pele ever was.

You know, you’re right. We play Uruguay two times in basically a month’s span.

Beautiful. I never gave up on you, Leo. Not when everyone said you were a quitter, that you weren’t a leader. You bleed sky blue and white.

I had endless fights with my husband cause he was a typical anti messi argentinian when we met in 2014. He finally seen the light of course.
I ve adored Messi since 2008...to me he was always the greatest player ive ever seen. Now our kid screams his name and wears his shirt.

    TE AMAMOS MESSI

To his defence, he scored 4 in previous 5 games, had some assists aswell including in this game.

Messi hasnt score from open play since Copa group stage, coincidentally against same opponent. This hattrick will makes him more clinical in upcoming game.

Paredes assisted the first and involved in the third goal which started from his powerful shot.

Only if our qualifier and friendlies are against teams like Latvia, Maltha , Cyprus, Albania, Estonia, Kazakshtan, Gibraltar, Macedonia. That's something that suit CR more.

I could see from the first minute that Messi was inspired. It was a good feeling to see the boys playing at home on a DECENT PITCH.

Minute 20-40 was a little scary. It seemed we had too much confidence and relaxation with a 1 goal lead. We have to learn to take advantage of the early goal when it opens up the other team, but continue to play like it is 0-0. Less backward passing and more quick counters.

Can't really fault Di Maria or Papu in this game, but I would like to see what one of the Correas can do there.

Nico has been too wasteful lately. Would like to see Dybala ahead of him.

I dont understand why we didn't see Lisandro towards the end.

Overall very happy! Feel so good for Messi doing this at home.

Aside from the otherworldly Messi, I think we as a team had many moments of brillance. Its true that, like DTCrackheads says, we did relax a bit too much after the first goal on the 1st half there, but i dont know what is with this team. Even then, i never doubted we will win it. It looks like a team that can press ON at any moment and destroy most teams. Even if we "only" won 3-0, we dominated most of the game. And in the end, when the Correas got in...i dont know why but lately it seems that The Correas inject the team with adrenaline and is GOAL SHOW after that.

I mean of course there are things to improve, but this team looks so promising, so much spirit, so much depth. I havent seen the fans so in love with a team since....forever?

Those backpasses in our own final third were scary when you're playing against teams like France, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Belgium, we could get punished. Its just too much and unnecessary . Remember Croatia game? Its all hang in balance until one wrong back pass.

On other notes, Musso didnt have much work to do but he did look confidence.

Scaloni seems to add Bielsa pressing style when we're not on the ball . We're hunting like pack of wolves. Although in major tournament, this could cause exhaustion at later stage.
